After the sad events of yesterday, I felt a need to re-read Robin's original Stinky Grandma Rolling Down the Boat Dock at WDW post.

It was on the "Strangest Things You've Seen at Disney World" thread from a long, long time ago.

In one of Robin's last posts, she mentioned that she was going to IM WillyJ to see if he still has a copy of the original.

Sadly, Will was not able to save it due to computer problems requiring a cold boot . . . :( Willy did, however, think that maybe Indyman had a copy . . .

SO, if anyone out there in cyberspace has a copy of that, could they please post it here? I'd really like to remember Robin that way . . .

I never saw that one, and I'd really like to read it.

Sorry Deb, I don't have it. I'm not sure why Willy thought I would have a copy. I wish I could have helped.

Is there no way that we can find it with search? Maybe Robin reposted the story and its in another thread.

I would really like to read it...I hope someone has the story somewhere...

Folks,

I have to be up tonight until the wee hours (1am ish) for work. I can certainly try to search for this thread then. I suspect Search will be working when there are not so many folks on the boards. Does anyone know if this was on the CB or another board. Approx time frame? Do I have to search on the specific board, or can I just do a Search and it will look everywhere?

Point me in the right direction, and if it is still here, I WILL find it.

Debbie

Thanks for checking, Indyman . . .

I'm going to plead to a higher power -- Webmasters Pete and Alex . . .

Thanks, Debbie.

All I can remember is that the title of the thread was "Strangest Thing You' ve Seen at Disney World".

It was maybe a couple of years ago.

I can't remember who the OP was -- not Robin.

Anyone else remember anymore?

Deb the original was before my time but I remember someone said that it was lost in one of the crashes. But someone had found it and either bumped it or posted a link to it. I can't remember which. I believe that was in early 2002. I don't even remember if I posted to it or not but maybe I can search my earlier posts and see if there is something there.

I remember a year or two ago, jimmypop found the thread! (I think that's his user name - real handsome young man, took a semester of school to work in WDW on the college program, hung out with the "Late Night CBers and the One Line CBers, does that user name ring a bell to anyone, or a user name like it?) It was a miracle that he somehow found the thread, since it had been lost in a crash. Maybe he can help? :)

kejoda, I got your PM, now I cannot get back to User CP to reply.

Deb--I was going to poke around, and then throw myself on Alex's mercy too. ;)

We'll keep plugging away, and maybe someone still has it too.

That thread was on the old boards, and was lost in the crash.

Unless someone had a copy saved to a Word file or some such, I am thinking it is gone forever. :(

Maybe it was JimmyBop?  I remember him as the real nice, funny, good looking, young man who either liked the movie "Emporer's New Groove" or the line "Boom Baby!" or something like that.

Rambling. :p

Saffron-- I think it was jimmybop. He did a recent post on the Budget Board.

As for finding the thread, I bet you could do it this way. First look up under members, find her name/posting ID. Then find all the posts that she has done, and then after weeding through that, you "should" be able to find that. If you do it that way, you will find anything that she has posted to, and whatever forum. Currently this members thing is down right now, but I bet if you asked nice and said pretty please, you could get that info.

I remember one of the last post was that she was going to take her grandma to the nudist camp.. I think that was from last week or something like that.

Deb if you need to get into your cp just click on someones pm buton it should get you there.

Jimmybop sounds right. I'll send him a pm. I know one of the threads he posted on recently.

Cindy, no search will lead you to a post that no longer exists.

As I said, if jimmybop or someone else has a copy saved to their hard drive, you're in luck.

I did bump a thread today that contained many stories from Robin about her Grandmother. I'd be glad to prune it so you all could see just her stories. It had many funny ones in it, but none with the Granny in WDW.

I hope someone did save this to their hard drive. I admit I saved this many moons ago on my computer and that hard drive crashed shortly after the thread was lost. I remember I even had that link on my newer computer and was heart sick when it no longer worked. I only recently deleted that link from my computer since it hasn't worked in ages. If I remember correctly that one was on the old Infopop board and when we moved, that one was unfortunately lost. It was a classic that I am now kicking myself for not making a back up on a floppy since I loved it and opened it many times. Or I wish I printed it out like I do many of my favorites now so I at least can copy them onto my computer via scanner.

That one was such a great read and I wish there was a way we could find it again.....

I sent jimmybop a pm that included the link to this. Hopefully he will have it.

I read a lot of Robins posts yesterday and I didn't see any mention of her Grandmother in Dw. I didn't real all of them. Next time search is working I'll start from the begining.

How far did you get Snoopy?

The post that Deb is referring to is a post that was started probably 3 years ago or more -- entitled "Strangest Things You've Ever Seen at WDW". It was a classic, for sure, and not only did it contain funny Robin Granny stories, it had a bunch of other funny stuff on it as well. Unfortunately, I do believe that thread was lost in the "board crash of 2000" (or was it 1999?)

You might try PMing Alex, he may have been able to salvage things from the old boards, but I have always been told those threads were lost forever.
