A+ Report on HotwireSavingsClub.com

starwood and anyone else wondering......this is the reply from Sears:

"Thank you for contacting Sears.

We apologize for any confusion. Lands' End gift cards can be used in the
Sears stores, but only on Lands' End merchandise. Thank you for your
understanding."

That's what I thought. Oh well, it would have been nice.

the tickets came and are MYW-4 day hoppers-but expire within 14 days of use-not even what I ordered. I am sending them back certified mail as per cc directions. I have no idea what will happen.

I am confused. I didn't think WDW passes were being sold by HSC anymore. I have purchased passes from them in the past (4-Day PHP) and had hoped to buy more. For the past couple of weeks when I click through on these passes on the site it says that "this benefit is currently not available." How were you lucky enough to buy them?

By the way, just for future reference, did you know that you can upgrade or modify any MYW ticket (except Florida resident 3 day play pass which has its own rules) anytime within 14 days of first use at the parks?

I'm really surprised that I still have my Hotwire Savings Club membership here as I had expected to open it just for the meal vouchers (for our December 2004 trip) but I've been saving so much money buying gift cards at a discount that I kept putting off cancelling. Then in January, when I thought I'd cancel, I found out they added new stores -- including Land's End, Burger King and Kentucky Fried Chicken -- I had to order more gift cards/certificates because we'd use them! I love the 20% savings, and the gift cards made terrific Xmas presents (we gave away a lot of Target and Macy's cards). The membership fee that I've paid so far (only one months worth since the first month was a free trial, the second month I got a $10 rebate) has been more than worth it for the hundreds of dollars I've saved. I'll likely keep my membership for another while so I can buy more gift cards and see if they will offer some great discounted Disney stuff again.

Is there a list somewhere where I can see exactly which GCs are available? Also, how many (GCs) can you buy a year ($ amount)? I went to their website but it is not very helpful. Anyone got a better link with all the info on it?

Now that we have a Super Target I find myself food shopping there, and the GCs would come in handy.

Well now I'm completely confused - there is the answer from Lands End about the gift cards

"Please include the following line in all replies.

It won't be me - we have about a foot of snow and still snowing. I don't think I'll be out of the house for a week.:bored:

Hey, you got our snow! We expected around 8 inches over 2 days and got about 1/2 inch in an hour...period. My kids are so sad!

Give me your address and I'll send you what's on our lawn LOL! The good news is that it looks like it's almost over. The bad news is the wind and cold.

Do any of you know if HSWC will be carrying the meal vouchers anymore? I emailed customer service and they said they were temp. out of stock but would be getting more in. Anyone else get any different info.? Also, can you rejoin at a different time when they do start carrying them?

I called them yesterday and they said they thought they would be getting more. They said they went through this last year for about a month and half at the same time of year while they were negotiating prices with Disney. I bought a few, but wish I had bought more. We leave in 12 days!!!! :cool1:

Anybody???

I've been a member for about 8 months and have been pleased.

Here is a list of the shopping and restaurant gc that are currently offered (from their website):
Barnes & Noble Booksellers
Babies''R''Us®
Bass Pro Shops®
BLOCKBUSTER®
Borders Books & Music®
Circuit City®
Crutchfield.com
Discount Shopping Service, powered by Overstock.com
Foot Locker
Hollywood Video®
JCPenney
K•B ToysTM
Linens'n Things
Kmart®
Lands' End®
Macy's
Sam Goody®
Target®
The Sports Authority
Pier 1 Imports®
Waldenbooks®
Toys''R''Us®
The Sharper Image®
Bahama Breeze®
Bennigan's Grill & Tavern
Burger King®
Hard Rock Cafe
Olive Garden®
KFC®
Outback Steakhouse
Planet Hollywood
Red Lobster®
Restaurant.com
Wendy's®

The maximum number of GCs depend on the store -- usually 14 for the $25 gcs (which costs you $20 after rebate). The Target definitely has a 14 gc limit since I've maxed out on it (getting a savings of $70). The KFC and Burger K ones that I've bought has a max of 20 for the $10 gc booklets.

One way around the limit is that some gcs are good for multiple stores owned by same company. For example, Bahama Breezes, Red Lobster & Olive Garden are owned by the same company and the cards for each are good for redeemption at any of the three restaurants -- we've used RLobster cards at OGarden several times. Borders cards are good at Waldenbooks (but I don't know if the reverse is true). There are probably others like that.

Thank you both christmaslady and Scotch. Sounds like it is something I should look into. I found their website but the info was not nearly as good as what you 2 told me! :cool1:
