Day 2, Part 2 - I want some beads
Okay, I confess that at this point I'm relying on my pictures to remind me of what we all did. I tried to keep a journal of everything we did but by the time we would get back to the hotel I was so tired that I just went straight to sleep.
Anyway, after Pirate Island we were all hungry. Trying to plan meals in advance just did not work with my family so we had no reservations and decided to just walk around and see what looked good. The French Market was closed so we meandered to main street. Everyone liked the menu at Carnation Cafe and it wasn't very busy so we decided some sandwiches and the loaded baked potato soup was just what we wanted.
That pickle was so good. Woah that picture is giant.
Over lunch we discussed the rest of our day plans and my step mom was complaining about a blister she was already getting. I had brought an extra pair of flip flops for the water rides so I let her try them. She loved them so I took her high heeled hard flip flops and put them in my purse and she wore my cute Roxie flip flops. Good shoes are so important!
We were already on main street so we decided to check out the main street shops. There are some really cool things if you just look. They had Etch-a-sketch pens, where the ball point was on one end and the Etch-a-sketch on the other. I had never seen that before and planned on buying one but I was distracted by my step mom trying on children's sunglasses and I forgot! So sad.
Next was Tomorrowland my dh's favourite place because of Innoventions. He likes the video games.
Star Wars was the first stop, again there was no line and we walked straight onto the ride and had almost the whole thing to ourself. In the middle of the ride my sister leaned over to me and said "It smells like Grandpa Don in here" and you know what? It really did.
My dh had gotten my dad excited about video games so we went to Innoventions next. Innoventions is so boring for me, I don't like the idea of touching video game controllers that are grubby from sticky hands and I just find all the other stuff silly. Fortunately so did my sister, so her and I wandered around on our own. My sister did the face aging thing, my dad played the futuristic piano, my dh played his video games and I watched the segways.
Finally, when everyone was ready to go we went to watch the Jedi show thing that I can't remember what it's called. I had never seen the show before because I don't have kids but I ended up loving it. Disney does such a good job I think, and the kids were so cute.
The little boy in the red hat was too cute. He was so tiny and he could never get his light saber to pop out.
I think I have a little crush on Darth Vader, I like a bad man in black.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the show, and I recommend seeing it even if you don't have children trying to participate.

The sun was getting hot and we were starting to get tired so we headed back to the hotel for a quick rest and to change our clothes for the evening. My dad wasn't ready to go back to the hotel so he and my step mom went to Downtown Disney and bought some Kettle Corn which later ended up in my tummy! mmm.
We had dinner reservations at the Blue Bayou for that evening and Indiana Jones fast passes. We didn't need the fast passes so we quickly (as quickly as one can) went on an Indiana Jones adventure and then ran to our reservation. While waiting for our name to be called my sister and I decided to meander around New Orleans and we found the purple lady.
We stood and watched them perform for awhile. The purple lady was giving away purple beads to people randomly and I really wanted the beads but she just wouldn't give me any. My sister and I decided to check if our table was ready and it still wasn't so we went back for an encore. The purple lady (anybody know her name?) said she was going to sing her last song and when it was over she gave me and my sister some purple beads! I was so happy!
When our table was ready we had a nice table right by the water. Our waitress was very friendly. I normally LOVE the BB but sadly I was very disappointed this time with my food. My chicken was dry and my potatoes weren't cooked all the way. We ordered the cookie boat, and that was delicious. We asked our waitress what the dobloons were (I think that's what they were called???) she said they are after dinner mints and they put it on the menu incase people want to order a box of them. When she brought our bill she brought us a mountain of the mints, I thought that was really sweet of her.
We ordered these cups that came with either a light up tinkerbell or a light up Captain Hook. I got tinkerbell, my sister and dad Hook. I clipped tink to my purse.
With our full stomachs we headed to FL to see if Toad was open yet and it was with little wait. This was the first time most of us had been on this ride, everyone thought it was funny.
The park closed at 8 that evening (so early!) so we just wandered around, did a little more shopping and really just enjoyed being in Disneyland.
I don't remember this picture or why I'm making that face but I wanted to show you my beads! I kept saying to dh "Do you know what I had to do to get these?" he just ignored me. He was jealous I think.
