I wasn’t planning to do a Trip Report which is why I’ve been back for a month and am just now getting to it. My holiday to Disneyland was a short one (September 9-12) but I managed to squeeze in my favorite rides, a dream fastpass, a ride in the wheelhouse and a confrontation with Jack Sparrow.

I'm not great at writing Trip Reports because I get so excited that my thoughts and memories just pour out like vomit all over, so to save you from the mess I will try to have more pictures than words. However, first things first, let’s meet the players. I will try to use three words to describe each of us (from my point of view), and share with you which character we were most like in animations studio.

Me: Childish, quirky, and short-tempered. I am most like Cinderella.
CIMG2993MediumSmallCustom.jpg

Dh: Patient, logical, and a baby. He is most like Jiminy Cricket.
CIMG2992MediumSmallCustom.jpg

Sis: Practical, quirky, and anxious. She is most like Dot.
CIMG2998MediumSmallCustom.jpg

Dad: My duplicate. He is most like Flik (he didn’t know who that was so he did it again) and Cogsworth.
CIMG2995MediumSmallCustom.jpg
CIMG2999MediumSmallCustom.jpg

Step mom: Fairly new to the clan I don’t know her all that well - I went to DL with her and my dad last year and she rode every ride with us even though she doesn’t like them so this year she was the picture taker. She is most like

(though she found it funny she wanted to do it again) and

Okay, here we go.
Tuesday Day 1, Part 1 - We're off

Scotland to London, London to LA. Our flight left for London bright and early, we were packed, I was sprayed tanned, dh had his peanut m&m's we were ready to go.
CIMG2866MediumCustom.jpg

CIMG2868Medium.jpg

The flight was uneventful and was only an hour long so dh and I stayed awake. Every so often I would nudge Dh in the ribs with my elbow and he would lean over and tickle me and we would wrestle in the seats, the guy sitting next to my dh didn’t look too thrilled but we were having fun.

We landed in LA at 3:00pm, we shot out of the airport and headed over to the Super shuttles.
CIMG2873Medium.jpg

We were nervous because last time we took a super shuttle we drove around the airport for 40 minutes before leaving so we were going to play it by ear and possibly take a taxi. However, the shuttle pulled up and we were the last ones to get in so off we went to Anaheim!

The journey to HoJo's was a long and boring one and like always we were the last ones dropped off but we made it! We checked in, dug through our suitcases and made mess, hopped into the shower and got ready to go to Mimi's cafe.

CIMG2876Small.jpg

Once we were cleaned up we went to Mimi's for some food. It was currently 4am our time so we didn't know if we were hungry for breakfast or dinner so we decided to just eat light. I ordered a small chicken cesear salad and dh had a wrap. Our food portions were HUGE! I couldn't believe my salad was a small, and we had no idea you could make wraps that big. Unfortunately in our tired confusion we forgot to take pictures of our food.
After eating we decided to head to the park to see if they were still open.

Morning Christina!

Or should I say goodnight?

Anyways, you are off to a great start. Loking forward to hearing some more!popcorn::

Really ejoying your TR! I can't wait to read more. Great pics, by the way.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Glad to see some of you are reading! Sorry I cut my first instalment so short I didn't realize how time consuming it is to upload pictures and write a report, but any way I'm ready to write some more.

Tuesday Day 1, Part 2 - Mission: Disney Dollars

By the time dh and I were done eating it was getting dark but we had hopes that the park would still be open. Unfortunately when we arrived we noticed an awful lot of people leaving which wasn't a good sign. The park was closing in ten minutes but mainstreet was going to remain open for another half hour, that was just fine with us so in we went.

The rest of my family was meeting with us the next day and I had wanted to have 25 Disney Dollars to give to my student sister so she would have some spending money for snacks so dh and I headed to the bank to get some Disney dollars. The line was fairly long but we didn't mind waiting. The Disney dollars were so cute! I decided I wanted a Cinderella for me so I got 25 for my sister and a Cinderella ten for me. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of my Cinderella! I found some on photobucket to show you.

I had read online about this couple that likes to be the last to ride Peter Pan and they seemed interesting, so even though I shouldn't admit this I wanted to see if we could see them so we headed to fantasy land. It was a family that was last in line though, so we didn't get to see the Peter Pan couple.
We decided to take some pictures before heading home to get some sleep. Have you ever stayed up so late that you're no longer tired but wired instead? Well that was us, we hadn't slept on the plane and it was about 5am our time now.
CIMG2885Small.jpg

I had never seen the carousel empty before, it was kind of eery.
CIMG2888Medium.jpg

CIMG2900Medium.jpg

Dh and I are very competitive especially when it comes to photography. I admit that I'm usually the one that takes the best pictures :rolleyes1 but I can't take credit for the last one, he put the camera on a trash can and stood there for about five minutes trying to be perfectly still. It worked out for him in the end but there is no way I would have stood there for as long as he did!
Wednesday Day 2, Part 1 - Meeting Jack Sparrow

I woke up at 6am and asked dh if he was awake, he said yes. Since he was awake I decided to take that opportunity to tell him my plans for the day, when he heard my breakfast plans he got mad. He had wanted to eat at Mimi's for breakfast but my plan was to eat cinnamon buns at the park. I told him we could eat at Mimi's the next day! Like he had a choice ;)
We decided to get up and get ready since we were both awake anyway. The plan was to meet my family in the lobby at 9am but at about 8:50 we heard a knock on our door and it was my dad! I hadn't seen my dad or my sister in over a year so I was so excited to see them.

Once everybody was ready we headed off to the park to wait in line for the gates to open. I like to get to the park early even if I have to stand in line for 40 minutes but I also know I'm the only one that's like that so I didn't tell anybody else what time the park opened and I hoped I could get away with it. However once we were in line I heard the question I hoped I wouldn't hear "What time does the park open?"
I debated lying and saying I didn't know but I said 9:30 instead because that's when mainstreet opens. Fortunately I didn't hear a single protest so I had managed to get away with getting there early!
CIMG2903Small.jpg

Once through the gates we headed to the giant cinnamon buns. At this time the line was very short and we were one of the first people served. We sat down by the glass elephant to eat and dh decided he wanted an iced mocha so he went back in line.
CIMG2905Small.jpg

CIMG2904Small.jpg

The cinnamon buns weren't great this time, they were a little too sweet and my dad's bun had a big chunk of icing un-spread on it and it didn't melt when it was warmed up and he didn't like it.
We were done eating but dh wasn't back with his mocha yet so I went through the game plan with my family but when I was finished dh was still not back. It was getting time for the rope drop and I didn't want to miss Peter Pan so I was starting to get a little panicky. I told my family to get by the rope and I would get dh. I found dh still at the back of the line, he hadn't ordered yet! We made a plan to meet at Peter Pan, so I left him in line and my family and I headed to Peter Pan.
As we waited the line kept getting longer and longer and I started to get cranky, my sister kept telling me to relax which just made me more angry. Finally dh arrived with his iced mocha and apologized, he said he had just ordered when the rope dropped so that's why he took so long. Oh well, we were ready for our first ride of the holiday!
CIMG2908Small.jpg

Everyone loved Peter Pan and we were off to a great start. After Peter Pan we headed over to Alice, I had never ridden Alice before and the closer we got to the ride the more it looked like a kiddie ride but we decided to give it a go anyway and it was also a blast!
CIMG2913Small.jpg

CIMG1771Medium.jpg

After Alice I wanted to ride the matterhorn but nobody else did so we skipped it and walked to Mr. Toad.
Toady was closed though, they said it might be opened later so we decided to head to Big Thunder Mountain.
CIMG1784Medium.jpg

We decided to ride Pirates of the Caribbean since we were very close, there was no line up and we almost had the whole boat to ourselves. The boats ahead and behind us were empty.

My family has never been to Pirate Island so after collecting Splash Mountain fast passes we hopped over to the Island where the pirates were out singing. There weren't very many people there which was a nice treat.
CIMG2917Medium.jpg

My family is the type that doesn't care for much social interaction so while we like the pirates we weren't interested in interacting with them so we hid over in a corner to watch but Jack Sparrow found us and came over to chat. He took my step mom's drink and said it wasn't strong enough.
oohlala014Medium.jpg

He then tried to take my purse but I wouldn't let him, then he noticed my fingernails and told dh to have the fungus on my fingers checked out. My fingernails were painted yellow.
That was cute, and so was he.
We wandered about the island, my sister and I were the only ones that darted through the caves. I must say the island is so much more fun when it's not crowded, I was able to pump the water and run around that thing that pulls up the skeleton. Usually it's too busy.
CIMG2928Small.jpg

Ok, I'm going to stop here for now.

Ohhhh! I cannot tell you how many times I've tried to get a photo of this very spot! Well, I used to, because just as you bust out to the outdoors there was this lovely heart-shaped topiary. I could never remember to get my camera ready in time to capture it, and when I finally remembered it on t he last trip... it was gone!

It had been lookin' a little raggedy the last few times I'd ridden, so I guess they whacked it and something else is now growing in its place.

I looooove the shot of the Tomorrowland entrance at night, just beautiful! :lovestruc

You don't have to tell your DH, though, if you don't want to. :rotfl:

More, please! :flower3:

Oh I wish I could have seen the heart-shaped topiary, I had never ridden the ride before so I didn't know any different, where was it, can you see where it was in my picture?

I'm glad you're still reading, I started out with twice as many photo's but then I started to delete them because I'm still not really comfortable sharing pictures with my face on them :goodvibes I also tried to add a video but I couldn't figure out how to work it. I might try again. Anyways, I will tell dh you liked his picture it doesn't happen very often where he wins our picture competitions.

Awesome pics Christina! Can't wait to read more. :goodvibes That's a bummer about the cinnamon buns not tasting good. That happend to me when I read about the strawberry shortcakes at Blue Ribbon Bakery. I decided to try it and it was as hard as a rock and was so stale I couldn't eat it. :crazy2:

Great photos. I really miss the Blue Ribbon Bakery! Those pictures make me want a chocolate filled croissant. They have the best ones there.

Scotland to London, London to LA. /QUOTE]

This would be were you lost me. You left Scotland, and London to go to LA

Sorry, Scotland and London would be our dream trip. Maybe when the kidos get bigger.
:rotfl2: I HAD to get out of the rain for a little while. You would understand if after 1 year and you could count on your hand the number of days you've seen the sun.

Yeah that's happened with a few things, we got the nachos at white water snacks after hearing how awesome they were and they were so greasy and slimy and gross it's sucky when that happens.
Great photos. I really miss the Blue Ribbon Bakery! Those pictures make me want a chocolate filled croissant. They have the best ones there.
I really love looking at the treats at disneyland don't you? They may not all taste that great but they ALL look so pretty.

It was on the right-hand side, next to the shrub you can see on the ground. I didn't notice the topiary from the ground, only while on the ride, and it was so cute I wanted a picture of it. Ah, well. Maybe they'll put a new one in...?

hey Christina! Great start so far. I'm marking my place so I can come back when I have more time to read. Can't wait to hear all about it. :thumbsup2

Where's the rest of your trip report? Can't wait to read more!! :yay: :yay:

I agree with the rest... your Tomorrow land picture was striking and I, too, have always wanted a shot that good on the Alice tracks! Nice job! :thumbsup2
