MagicaDad finally gets to Who Wants to be A Millionaire

The phone rang at 7:30, just as I requested. I rolled over & ignored it. Next the back up alarm clock went off. Ignored that too. My legs felt like I was still walking around the parks. I just needed to rest, just a little bit longer. I was tired of being commando Mom, I needed a break. No one seems to realize how hard it is to make sure everyone gets to have a good time.

At 10:00 we all woke up. I was rested & ready to run! It’s MGM day, again!

As soon as we get there I run to get fast passes for Rockin Roller Coaster. I didn’t get a chance to ride it earlier. Who’s going with me? Teen? Nope, roller coasters give her a headache. Must be something new she just developed today. Youth? No, too scared. MagicalDad? Nope someone had to stay with the kids. I ride alone.

Next we head for the backlot tour. As we rode by the Lights, Motor, Action bleachers the boys told us again how we really need to see it & how great it is. “We’ll see” I said “Horray!!!!” they shouted. They’ve always believed that “we’ll see” means yes.

We had a while before LMA begins so off to Millionaire we go. We are all so excited. We are going to win a cruise!!! I just know it! DH is always so good at this game. I take a moment to remind him that he may not win, but just better do his darndest if he doesn’t want to shell out thousands to pay for the cruise we will someday take.

After waiting in our seats for just a bit, it finally begins. They ask the fastest finger question. We both key in the correct answer as quickly as we can. This is it, I hold me breathe. They call the winner. First I thought there was an error because they didn’t call DH or myself. They called the 9 year old kid in front of us. Let me add, this doesn’t mean the 9 year old is smarter than us, just faster. That’s all.

I have to admit, it was exciting to see that kid get up there. His family was tickled. Since he was so young he was able to call someone down to help him. He had a lot of family to choose from, mom, dad, aunts, uncles. He chose his 12 yr old brother. How adorable I thought. This shouldn’t take long & then Magicaldad will be in the hot seat, where he belongs.

They got the first questions right. Then the next, then the next. MagicalDad & I are steady keying in the correct answer, quickly as possible. Each time I answer a question the teen gets upset. “The youth is copying off of you!” She tells me. I try to explain to her that I really don’t care. Can’t she see we are busy? We are on a mission here. Finally they check the boards again. MagicalDad & I aren’t even on there. I don’t know why? I guess we aren’t as fast as we thought we were huh?

The Pre-Schooler begins to become bored pushing the buttons. Becoming restless he announces that he must go to the potty right now! “Okay, shhhhh, it’s almost over.” He became louder. “okay, okay, let’s go” Nope, he only wanted daddy to take him so that he could go in the boy’s bathroom. I really did try & try to get him to go with me. Finally we had to give up & MagicalDad took him. “Sorry Hon,” I whispered. Truthfully he wasn’t even on the bored, so we had no shot at the cruise.

The kid in the hot seat did excellent. Made it to 30 something thousand. He won a hat, shirt, pins, all kinds of goodies.

After allowing a few seconds to mourn our loss, we head over to Sci Fi for lunch. We really enjoyed ourselves. The kids got such a kick out of sitting in a bar & drinking glow in the dark drinks. It was nice, dark & cool in there, so I also count this as relaxation time. Kuddos to me for such good planning.

Following lunch we head to LMA. It was a long walk in the heat. A slow crawl to the top of the bleachers. A long wait for it to begin. We sat directly in front of a fan at DH’s request. This also counts as relaxing time. It was entertaining. I tried to enjoy it, but the row of girls in matching yellow shirts from Brazil played with their hair the entire time. It was a bit distracting when they kept hitting me in the knees. The boys loved it, especially seeing Herbie.

Shortly after the show finished the rain began to poor. I mean poor. Large groups of people huddledoutside of the backlot tour. We waited there. & waited & waited. It obviously wasn’t going to stop anytime too soon. I knew that not too far away was Mickey Mouse. We made a run for it. We ran as fast as we could, the whole family, except for the teen. “I don’t know why everyone is so scared of rain!” she rolled her eyes. She’s much too cool to run through the rain with her family.

Once inside we got in line to see the Head Mouse. The Pre-Schooler was so excited that he could barely contain himself. He hopped about in a silly little dance. A CM stopped by us & mentioned that in 2 minutes Mickey would have to step into the back to have a slice of Cheescake that Minnie made for him, but he’d be right back. “Yeah!!!” the Pre-Schooler yelled. It will only take a minute I reminded him, it’s almost our turn. The CM announced that Mickey would be leaving in just one more minute. “WooHoo!!!!” The Pre-Schooler was getting even more excited! “Mmmmmmm Cheesecake!” Oh no, he thought Mickey was going to go in the back to get him cheesecake. After much, much explaining I finally got that straight.

The Teen kindly offered to take a picture of the Pre-Schooler & I with Mickey. How nice, she knows I love Mickey. It was also quite sweet of her to inform me that my shorts were riding up my thighs before snapping the picture. Hope I didn’t embaress her too much.

The rain was still pouring buckets. We gave up & headed back to POR. This time I needed some rest & relaxation too.

Up next, Shopping at Downtown Disney!

Thanks Meeko! I'm going to try to finish this report up this week, if I can get the Teen away from the computer long enough. :)

I love that your pre-schooler thought he would get cheesecake from Mickey himself :rotfl: So cute. Can't wait for part 12,

Claire xx
