A Rebuttal: Top 5(+) things that are better at Walt Disney World than at Disneyland

Is Tokyo's ave high in Jan and Feb only 48? Cripes not going there if so.

Whoa Paris is 42? Forget it. Summer looks pretty good though-but we wait all year for summer up here.

In no particular order (since you asked): - Pooh's Hunny Hunt - Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek - Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull - Mysterious Island theming and Mount Prometheus - Riding monorails up front and with no driver - Most cheerful, polite, and helpful CMs anywhere - Huge Hub and walkways - Flavored popcorn - Themed vending machines - No tax on purchases There are many ways the U.S. parks beat Tokyo, but it wasn't hard to come up with 10 ways they don't. ;)

Forgot the shows too. Disneyland Tokyo and DisneySea has the best entertainment I have seen at any Disney park.

Love the weather at DL and not did miss the crazy exhausted feeling from walking 10 miles per day but missed the magic.

WDW is an all inclusive vacation. We love using KTTW at DTD and we're shocked to have provide a regular credit card just feet from the parks at DL. I will go again to DL but it is really not as special.

We could list dozens of things that are better at WDW, but really you only need one word: Epcot.

A Rebuttal: Top 5(+) things that are better at Walt Disney World than at Disneyland:

1. When walking on Main Street USA I don't have to worry about an earthquake hitting any moment.
2. The only gangs in the area all wear the same shirts and have a leader with a tall flag (and seem to usually be from Brazil).
3. You can go as high as possible on Dumbo, Aladdin's Carpets and Astro Orbiter and you still won't see a 7-11.
4. One four letter word----SMOG!
5. Most importantly---WDW is in Florida and I live in Florida.

Just got back from Disneyland for Avengers 1/2 and was at WDW only a month before for TOT so can speak from some recent experience...

Better at WDW
-Gates, enormously long lines to get into both DCA and Disneyland, never have I seen that in Florida (been during holidays too)
-FP+, crucify me if you want, but I LIKE FP+, this was my first time going back to legacy FP (paper tickets) and it gave me a chance to compare. I hated having to run from one end of the park to another to get a stupid paper ticket, AND I love at WDW where you can not only pick your time slot, but also change it on the fly if you need too. Too many times we didn't get a fast pass for something because it conflicted with a dining schedule, or running schedule, or something or others.
-Haunted Mansion, MUCH better after the refurb
-Splash Mountain, but barely, like the seating better
-Tower of Terror, MUCH better, better ride and better theming
-CM's, I also have found CM's nicer in WDW then California, but I think its a more cultural difference.
-More resort choices, I like having resort options available that cost less then $250 a night.

Better at Disneyland
-Space Mountain, Big Thunder, POTC are all FAR superior at Disneyland
-Closeness of the parks, nice being able to easily hop, though lines to get into the park are atrocious
-Dining, fewer options yes, but easier to book, no stupid 180 day window, I could literally walk up and dine including a WWOC dining option, NEVER would happen at WDW these days (used to).

I love photographing it..I think Remember, Dreams Come True is a spectacular fireworks show - and IMO it beats out Wishes easily. I love that you can go inside it and visit Aurora's story, and that you don't have to have a reservation 180 days in advance in order to go inside.

I love Cinderella castle too, so I can't say I love one more than another...I don't think either castle is lesser. They are both magical in their own distinct ways.

:thumbsup2

I forgot about the DL gates. (And would like to repress that memory)
1) EVERYONE goes through the bag check line to get into the "plaza" between DL and DCA. Bag check is basically at the monorail or bus stop area and DCA's entrance is at the Ferry dock)
2) But, you think it's bad at WDW that no one an figure out a finger print? At DL, no one cN figure out how to produce a valid ticket with a bar code on it. There's no "fancy" magnetic strips, RFID or fingerprints at DL and the line is still slower.
3) you get a hand stamp if you want to re-enter a park or park hop

But my resort guest-only little entrance from GC into DCA was quite nice

Goes to show everyone is different, they could bulldoze EPCOT and I would :cheer2:
I wouldn't :cheer2: but I would be :bored: I would be indifferent.

I've been to both and I'd say that Disneyland is more charming and California has better weather and is prettier overall. WDW is bigger and more crowded overall.

I have to disagree that a TSMM fastpass is an advantage. Even pre-Cars Land when DCA had as few (notable) attractions as DHS, the standby rarely exceeded 30 minutes and remains so to this day.

The only "gangs" I've ever seen at DLR are the Disney Social Gangs who identify themselves with particular rides or areas of DL. I have never seen any true gang members around DLR.

As a long time fan of WDW it pains me to disagree and admit that DLR is, since the rehab of DCA, is the better Disney resort experience. As a Disney fan this is not bad at all. Disney has done a fabulous job making DLR a pocket WDW. DLR recognizes people attend for the theme parks.

WDW is facing strong headwinds of dubious strategic focus, the net effect of which are remaking its character not so much to my taste. Among these are:

2) Exacerbation of non Disney development on the outskirts, eg Four Seasons and Disney springs;

6) Strange nickel and diming, e.g. rfi tags in soda cups.
7) A sense of constant construction, most of which of items 1-3 benefit a small portion of attendees;

YMMv of course, and some or none of this may bother you.

Regarding the OP'. IMHO . WDW superior elements: traffic, alcohol, and magicbands are dubious callouts. Getting to DLR from SNA is arguably easier than to WDW these days. Alcohol is hardly associated with Disney - there are better places to drink. FP+, magic bands, seriously?

2) There is land seemingly on-site at WDW that Disney doesn't own. Hence, resorts like Four Seasons. And Disney Springs isn't on any outskirts; it's the revamp/improvement of the Disney-owned Downtown Disney.

6) Apparently my mileage does vary here, because I enjoy a company profitable - not "giving away" items on a regular basis to people who decide it's okay to take what they haven't paid for.

7) Construction = improvement. There's a lot more to WDW and it has more visitors. No construction > no improvement> ever-increasing complaints about no changes, decaying structure...
