Hey guys,

I'm sure you get this a lot so I apologize in advance. I haven't been to Universal since 2008, so I've never seen HP/Simpsons etc. I'm going to Disney 9/4-9/12 with seven others. I think four of us are going to Universal on a one day trip. I'm staying at CBR and concluded Mears is cheapest. Anyways, although I'm bummed I have to pay $136 for one day, what do you think is a realistic amount of stuff I'll be able to do? (Going Monday, 9/8)

They want to go just to see HP and I really want to see Springfield. Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

Are you only planning on going to the Studios or both parks? You will need park to park tickets to ride Hogwarts Express. Crowds should be moderate after Labor Day so the crazy summer crowds will be gone. However...it will still be crowded so you should plan on being at the gates 30-45 minutes prior to opening. You'll have to decide if you want to do DA or Hogsmeade first. No one knows how the crowds for Escape from Gringotts will be or how its running so that's the big question mark. You won't be able to do everything...only the highlights but if you are mainly going for HP stuff, you should be OK.

BTW...one day Universal tickets are the same price as one day Disney tickets. The longer you stay the cheaper the tickets are.

I would try and get there at least 30-45 mins before opening if going to DA first.

We are going in 3 weeks and plan on doing both parks in 1 day, or at least try to. Since we haven't seen either HP land yet we are going to start with Hogsmeade and do as much as we can in IOA then head to USF and do what we can there before heading to Diagon Alley, we are hoping for the best.

For $5 you can go to touringplans.com and get a copy of their two park one day touring plans, use the optimize feature to see what expected wait times are, see if you can fit the stuff in, customize it, take things out, etc.

This helped me come up with a great realistic one day touring plan for my trip in December (before the Christmas crowds). I'm staying offsite and will not be buying FP.

With all the new stuff it's not like you can do everything in both parks in one day like you used to. But we're really just interested in HP stuff and a handful of other things, so one day is all we want to spend. The $5 investment was perfect for us to help us plan our day with our expensive one day park to park ticket.

Thanks for the info, I will try the touring plans, it will probably help us a lot. You are right about the 1 day park to park ticket, it's amazing the price but we pay it so I guess they can charge it!

Thanks for the recommendation. Will definitely give this a shot tonight!
