A Rather Dumb Question

Hi all,

We will be heading to Disney in May for our first DVC stay So excited, 35 days. We are staying at BCV and I have a dumb question to ask. Where do we check in? Do we check in at BC and then walk over to BCV, or do we just check in at BCV. Thanks to anyone who can help this DVC newbie out.

No such thing as a dumb question. You check in at the Front Desk in the lobby of the Beach Club. I think that all the DVC resorts attached to other Disney Resorts, except for Kidani Village, checkin at the same place as the main resort. That's one way to keep the dues a little lower.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I didn't want to get there and then be walking around aimlessly trying to figure out where to check in. This is why I love the DIS so much

Yep -- it's the main lobby -- but then it may get confusing. It's a huge complex -- I was okay getting to the right parking area and my room, but then when I started exploring I got totally turned around and confused among the Yacht Club, the Beach Club and where my DVC room was -- and I'm usually really good at directions, etc. So, pay attention to where you're coming from when you leave your room and watch for the "landmarks" (breadcrumbs) to get back again.

Thanks for the tip....I'll make sure I have breadcrumbs with me at all times because knowing me, I will get lost as usual

if you check in ahead of time online there is supposed to be a different line or spot in the lobby to go to

HI, glad to have you aboard. First off you can express check-in on line once your within 10 days of your stay. Thats done on the DVC web site. Once you completed the online form you just stop by the front desk with some I.D. and you'll be given an envelope with all your information, keys and room number. If you do it at the Front Desk, look for the DVC Check-In if not any clerk can help you and it just takes a few minutes longer. Hope it helps, have a great trip

Thank you so much for your responses....we already have planned on doing the online check-in. I was just confused as to where we should go after ME drops us off. Like I said before, we are newbies when it comes to DVC, eventhough we have gone to Disney many many times before. You guys are all great and thanks for helping me out

Not a dumb question, because a few years ago I believe there was a check in desk in the lobby of the Beach Club Villas. It didn't last too long and now, the only check in is the main lobby of the Beach Club Resort.
