Good morning, Disers!! I want to share with you a rant I posted in my blog yesterday evening. The whole idea is basically 'why people are so against eating healthy'... at least the people I know. I went way out on a limb... so if you're interested, I encourage you to read my rant. HAHA :lmao: :surfweb:

I also want to encourage you to see the movie Food, Inc. (in select theaters now) It'll change your life.... for the better I hope! I care about my Disers and want us to all keep going to Disney for a long long long long time!!!!

Here it is: http://anniessimplelife.blogspot.com/2009/07/chia-youre-alright.html

You are right, people never want to hear the bad stuff about food. thats why I don't try to tell them :)

when people talk about what they can do to help the environment, they don't want to hear that the biggest thing anyone can do for the environment is stop supporting factory farms, but they don't want to hear that.
so I stay off my soap box unless someone is interested in the topic and wants to discuss.

Agree. For some reason, it's mostly brought up to me that eating healthy is 'depriving myself' or 'going overboard'. REDICULOUS!! :headache:

It really depends on how you tell them are you informing or badgering them? Are you telling them with a patronising air because that will just get up people's noses. I have my own allotment and am currently growing onions, shallots, mange tout, melons, marrows, peppers cauliflower all sorts of tomato. Next year I intend just to grow heritage plants which are grown organically (I have the best cure for slugs out a bunch of chickens which love the slugs I feed them) it gives me exercise and food doesn't get better than that.

Oh yes, I'm very objective and not hassling at all. I hate it when people do that to me, so I don't do that to others. I really only inform if it comes up in conversation or if someone specifically asks me. I'm growing peppers right now- they're almost ready to eat!!!!
