I bring this up only because I'm seeing so many report about companies advertising...or what posters believe to be advertising.
For example...there have been a few threads recently about a car service run by Ed Korgan. Is he advertising? I doubt it. Are posters telling us about a good experience? I believe so. Yes, it is against board guidelines to have guests come back to the board and post how wonderful a service was. Is it okay to have a good experience and then come and tell us? Yes. But...if, for instance, Ed says 'Hey, go back to the DIS and tell everyone how wonderful I was.', then no, not that is not okay. Ed knows this...we have had discussions about it. He fully realizes that nothing will get you banned from being discusses faster than asking people to give you a good review.
But, if you had a wonderful experience, with any company, feel free to let us know. BUT....if we find that you were asked to do this by the company, or a company representative, there will be repercussions.

I ask your help here.....if anyone is asked, by a company, to give a good review, please let me know. I don't mean if someone says to you 'hey, if you liked us, let others know.'....that's not the same thing as 'Please give us a good review on internet discussion groups, especially the DIS boards'. There have been instances of companies having employees post as 'happy customers'.....this will get them banned from discussion...and quickly!! We want, and need, personal experiences, both good and bad, so that others can make informed choices.

Thanks everyone!!!
