Hi Folks,

It's been ages since I bought material and I'm trying to figure out how much I'm going to need for a blanket I'm planning. I can't for the life of me remember what fabric is sold by width-wise .....is it 45 inches (115 cms) and is there another width as well? I'm thinking for flannel if that makes a difference.

Dumb, basic question I know but can you help?!

Thanks!

Flannel is 45" and then you ask the cutting lady to cut by the yard how much you want.

So if you want it to be 45" by 45" I would buy one yard and a third to get 48" then you could trim it down.

Are you going to finish the edges? Or sew two squares together? If you are going to sew two together then I would get 3 yards and then have a little extra to make a few flannel burp cloths

Thanks Nancy! I'm making a rag blanket so I just needed to be reminded of the width so I could calculate how many squares across I could get out of it. I was pretty sure 45" was it but I wasn't trusting myself.

Thanks again!
