We're just back from the World and we dined (all suppers) at:
Sunday: Garden Grill
Monday: 50s Prime Time
Tuesday: Chefs de France
Wednesday: Crystal Palace
Thursday: Sanaa

Best meal of the week: 50s Prime Time. Absolutely no contest; everything we had there was delicious (oh, that fried chicken!) :thumbsup2:. Our server was very attentive and especially accommodating, considering our sleep-deprived and cranky DGD2 1/2, and the chef was very helpful in our decision-making (one lactose-intolerant and one diabetic). We'll definitely go back. Did I mention how good the chicken was?

Worst meal: Tie between Garden Grill and Crystal Palace. Tiebreaker: Worst meal goes to Crystal Palace (I got food poisoning ). The service and character interaction we experienced at the GG were exceptional; the food wasn't. We found much of the food to be way too salty. CP was very busy and our server did her best. The salads were delicious; most everything else was mediocre. I doubt we'll ever go back there for dinner.

Chefs de France was fine. The food was good, as well as the service. Sanaa was also good. Again, we had an accommodating chef who went out of his way to help us. Note to self: Book Sanaa earlier when you can see the animals.

Questions? PM me or ask in this thread. I'll be happy to answer anything I can.

Just out of curiosity, what was it a Crystal Palace that gave you food poisoning? You said you'd go there again - I'd like to know what to avoid! :lmao:

I met someone at Epcot and said the day before after eating at CP...the family got sick that night.
I thought I got food poisoning from Hollywood and vine but it was a stomack virus (I first got it, then my son and then 3 days later it was my husband). Worst thing at Disney we ever experience...I don't blame Disney (I hated it happened in Disney)

I have a question for you? Where is 50's Prime time? I've never heard of it.

50'S Prime Time Cafe is at Disney Studios. My friend and I ate there a couple of weeks ago. Delicious - she had meatloaf and I had pot roast. Both excellent. Many folks order the fried chicken - it looked fantastic.

I actually said "I doubt we'll ever go back there for dinner." And it wasn't just that I got sick, it was also that it just wasn't that great.

As for what made me sick, the only things I ate that no one else in my party ate were the roast beef and one of the desserts (some kind of chocolate mousse thing). I don't think there's any real way of knowing what caused it at this point. I'm quite sure it wasn't a virus since a) nobody else in my party got sick, and b) once the food had left the premises :scared1:, I felt fine.

As a PP stated, it's in Disney's Hollywood Studios. You go to the end of the first street and hang a left. The theme is very well done; I remember all the knick-knacks in there from when I was growing up. All six of us agreed though: best meal of the week...not fancy but delicious.

we had a "yuck" experience at garden grill too! i kept trying to tell DF that the reviews were awful and we shouldn't go--but he insisted.

he had these thoughts that the food was fresh from the gardens in the land ride :rotfl2: i explained that wasn't the case, but he insisted i was wrong.

when we got our meal a la stouffers... he was sad :( i wanted to say "i told you so" but felt it inappropriate.

so he's like... well at least mickey is here. then mickey comes and he's all distraught. (keep in mind he's 30 years old) i look at him because i know he's ready to say something. he told me that his meal tasted like our lean cuisines at home and that the mickey there was a hillbilly :rotfl:

we left there in an immediate search for a snack :) we can check that off our list

It's possible that the salad greens came from the Land, but they were so soaked in dressing it was hard to tell how fresh they were . Oh, there was one good thing: the kids' sweet potato french fries! Very good! But basically we were pretty disappointed. And sodium-logged.

We loved 50's. Our waitress Mary Ann had a hay day with my DH! food was very good and the P&J milkshake WoW. I did not care for the food at GG but DH sure did he was in heaven :confused3, but our server Jeffery was outstanding! We where celebrating our anniversery and my B-day he suprised us with fast passes to Sorin' when he gave us our check!

Our "Aunt Cindy" was also fun. And she realized that we had a very tired 2 1/2 yo w/us, and served up her food on the double, which helped us all a lot.

Fastpasses to Soarin'? Sweet! Good for you. We love that ride :thumbsup2.

We all loved 50's Prime Time too. One of the best meals we ate the whole week. (And cheapest too even though that didn't matter since we were on the dining plan.)
