A Question on AAA Codes

I'm getting the impression that there is another, non-public code that people are using to lower their AAA rates even further? Am I right in that assumption? Can I use it if I booked a room-only AAA rate directly with Disney, or would I have had to book it as a package through AAA?
Would appreciate any insight on this so I can work on getting the discount or figure out that I can't and just move on!!

For me it was the same as booking it through disney with the available public code. But yes there is and you have to call AAA to get it.

I am wondering the same thing myself and am interested in your replies.
Anyone else have any info??

This AAA business is driving me crazy!

I already had a room and dining plan reservation at PoP for 12/8-12/13. My AAA TA said there were no rooms available at PoP with the code for that time, so she couldn't apply the discount to my existing reservation. That I understood.

She said there were rooms at CSR with the code, and I'd love to stay at CSR even if it's a bit more (if it's a good deal). But the price she quoted for the package (room, tickets, dining) is the same price I found on the WDW site. So there doesn't appear to be any additional AAA discount.

But it sounds like others are getting an additional AAA discount on top of the package price offered by Disney. What am I doing wrong? Should I book a room only, then add the dining plan and tickets? :confused3

The code can only be used by a AAA agent when booking a AAA package.

AFAIK the rates are the same as the public codes but it allows you to get the other AAA perks.

Dear Lewis,
And the other AAA perk would be the parking?
Many thanks,
TapCat

The last time I booked with AAA (room and park tickets), I also received the parking voucher, mini-golf voucher for each member of our party, a "Diamond" discount card for DTD stores and restaurants (10-15% off stores listed on the card)and, of course, the complimentary beverage at the AAA office in MK. We used everything except the parking voucher. I'm not sure if there are additional perks if you book your entire package - air and park - with them.

Yes, ONLY AAA Travel agents can get this code. It is only available to some rooms at the resorts. Doing this on a daily basis, I say take any discount you can get. Just call your AAA TA and ask them to apply it to your package.

Parking, access to a AAA lounge and I think a discount at the World of Diseny in DTD. Not sure what else. Probably a luggage tag.

Just got off the phone with my AAA agent and CRO. The AAA travel agent package rate was approx 10% lower than the same exact package using the YQC code! The AAA room only rate was 15% lower than rack.

Hope that helps.

How did the rate compare with booking it online with the online code? Are your sure the difference isn't just the travel insurance?

I didn't use the code online, I called CRO so I don't know the answer to that question. If you tell me how to add a code online, I will try it and let you know how it compares. The AAA quote did not include travel insurance but if it did, that would be an even better bargain.

Click on the $999 vacation deal, the dining quote shows up as the alternate. What date are you leaving?

My AAA package is the same as using the WDW site for a 12/16 arrival date.

Well what I don't understand is that I already had a AAA discount of $171 and then my AAA TA called Disney with the AAA Code and got me an additional discount of $156 = $327. Now these two discounts deducted from the rack rate make my total to be the same as what is online when getting a quote from Disney's website with the special rate??? I thought with AAA I would of got a little more off???

Thanks. Here's what I came up with-

Three adults, one child
6 night Poly lagoonview concierge
5 day park hopper tickets for all

"Rack" rate per website: $4,484,24
YQE code per website: $4,229.34
AAA price per travel agent (called this morning): $3,971.24

So the AAA price through a travel agent is about $258 less than the same package using the YQE code and $513 less than rack rate. In a previous post I wrote that AAA was 10% cheaper than YQE but I should have said about 5% less, sorry my mistake.

Thanks! I'm going to send my AAA TA an email and ask her about this. I figured that with the AAA code I should get a little bit more off. Now was this a new reserv for you or was this a reserve you had that you got the new code added to?

Did the YQE and the AAA price both include insurance??

I've had a room-only AAA discount (straight 15% off rack rate) for months now. In the end, the package wasn't worth it for me because the room-only discount was so good and I really only needed tickets for my son so I kept my original ressie. When I got the recent quotes from AAA, they did not know I already had a reservation. I simply called the 1-888 number on the website and talked to someone on the phone; I didn't even have to go in person.

The AAA quote did not include insurance as I was told it would be an additional $59.95 or something like that. I don't know for sure about YQE but I assume it didn't include insurance either as I didn't see it listed anywhere.

Good luck, I hope you get an additional discount!
