I am wondering how women going through menopause handle their hot flashes in the heat. My hot flashes aren't as bad as they were (I used to get so hot so fast that my glasses would sometimes fog up I kid you not)
We are going to be at WDW from Aprl 29 - May 6 so the weather should be just nice - mid 80's to mid 90's, but having a hot flash when it's 90 degrees out I' m thinking might be a little overpowering. How do you handle it?
Have you seen those cooling bandanas? I bought one on Ebay for about $6 and it is great. I would recommend them for you, as I have used them in the past- I used to keep it next to my bed for my 3am flash
Here's how they describe them:
How is this cooling bandana/tie useful for YOU? This bandana has two compartments that are filled with premium top-quality non-toxic polymer water crystals. When the bandana is soaked in cool or cold water for approx. 20 minutes, these premium top-quality water crystals will hydrate and expand into a gel. Put the cooling bandanna/tie around your neck/forehead and it will help keep you cool for hours and hours in the warm and hot weather. The fabric will feel dry, but the gel inside the bandana/tie feels cool to the touch and will help keep you cool and comfortable in the heat for all day when worn around your neck or forehead. This cooling bandana/tie can be used over and over again; just rehydrate(soak) it and it is ready to go. The cooling effect works off an evaporation process.
My sister takes a medication for her hot flashes. Maybe you could talk to your Dr. about medication before you leave, even if it is used just for the trip. I have hot flashes also, but yours sound just awful.
