A question for the fluffier folks....

We are headed to Universal next week. I'm on the fluffy side...an average or maybe a little less than a size ladies 2x. I read on another thread that there may be larger seats on the rides that hold fluffier people. Anyone know what rides these are on and what rides that these aren't available on? I would like to ride a roller coaster or two, but I want to avoid the humiliation of having to leave the coaster because I don't fit.

TIA!

There are modified seats on rows 3 & 6 of each train on Hulk and Dueling Dragons. The seats have two seatbelt buckles. I'll post the pictures below. On RoTM...modified seating is in the back row which offers more leg room.

bahama97,

I love your description "fluffy" and "fluffier". I wish you the best for your trip. If rides were based upon sense of humor and beauty, you will be a fit for every one of them.

:)

Thank you so much for the pictures and positive comments. I'm glad to see that there are test seats so I can try it out before getting up there. I feel so much better about riding now! Thanks a bunch!

You are certainly welcome. I hope you have a great trip! :teeth:

Come too Hulk...and have no worries I will get you in the seat. At Hulk take row 3 or 6 and the third seat across with two buckles.

Have a great trip!!!

What is the best way of doing things as I know you are usually asigned the row to stand in?

I'm not embaressed about saying "excuse me I need a fat seat hehe"

But will the loader use there brain and think hang on ill asign that person there to avoid embaressmeant or would I have to say to the person before we get into the rows

First of all, see if there is actually someone assigning rows. If so tell them you would like "modified seating", they SHOULD use there brain and put you there with out asking, but it never hurts to ask. If there is not a person assigning rows, look for signage telling you what rows are modified.

Before going in to the queue, I would try the test seat if provided to see which seat fits you more comfortably.

From someone who is on the "fluffy" side :rotfl: love that description, having sat on both types of seats, I don`t remember any difference in the actual width of the modified seats to the normal seats. Is it just the double buckle or is there a difference on the actual seat size? :)

^There isn't a change in the actual seat, its just the two seatbelts are longer, therefore the restraint can be in the "locked" position higher up than the regular seats.

The back seat of ROTM.Plus you get great airtime back there.:thumbsup2

Actually on Hulk the seat belts are not longer and the seat is not bigger. The seat belts and buckles are just at an angle making it more accommodating.

last two times i went on the hulk, the tm asked me to switch seats with another guest.

they needed the longer seat belt and i didn't.

the tm's at that ride will do what is best for the guests on this ride.

i did not mind being moved to another row at all.
besides, who can carry on a conversation while on that ride.
people usually are screaming.............

You'll be fine. I went this past March Break, and I'm a size 2x- no problems. The people that run the rides just moved us to the side and we waited until a seat was available in one of the rows. It was fine- no problems and it seemed that everybody was doing it :)

We got back from our trip this afternoon. I am so HAPPY to report that I got to ride Hulk (2 times!) and Mummy without any problems at all! I am so glad that I asked about this before I went because I would have missed out on some serious fun if I had skipped the coasters. I did ask for row 3 or 6 for the first time that I rode Hulk. The girl was really great about it and sent me to row 3 without any questions. Then we I got up there the 2nd time, she remembered me and sent me to row 6 without me having to say anything. That was really nice :) And I absolutely loved both rides! Thanks again for the advice & reassurance!
