A Question for Recent Car Renters

I saw a good deal posted on the disboards about six weeks ago and made a car rental ressie for our upcoming Sept. trip. Received the email confirmation from the rental company. A few weeks ago, my computer had a virus and all email files were destroyed. I called Budget and told them my problem and they found the ressie for my AZ trip this summer, but found nothing for Sept. So I called National, Alamo, Dollar, Enterprise and Thrifty.....they all say I have no ressies with their companies. I am stumped.

*Finally* my question to those of you who have recently rented: did the car rental company send you a reminder of your reservation as the rental date drew near?

We just got back from Vegas and a couple of days prior to our trip, Budget sent a reminder email. Was good that they did, because I had actually two reservations with them!! I had forgotten to cancel one (whoops...).

Budget did send me a reminder too but only a day or two before we left---for the one I kept and the one I had email confirmation of cancelling!

I just received one from National about 3 days in advance of the rental.

Thank you for your replies. Looks like I will receive an email reminding me of my reservation. Maybe they'll remind me what to pack, too!
