If there are 40 cross-stitches across a line and you have to count how many you have stitched so far, do you count each stitch or is there some type of ruler that I can measure the line and know how many stitches I've sewn? I guess my eyes are not as sharp as they once were and it is soooo hard to count each and every one!

There is a ruler out there, but I always just count it myself. Easier that way for me.

I would count. I was always afraid that the ruler would be wrong.

I agree. I've got the ruler, but it's hard to use correctly. By the time I've got it stretched out and aligned to the holes and figured out, I could have counted it twice. :teeth:

What I do when I'm distracted or have a large number to count and want to ensure I have the right count is I take extra needles and put one in the hole I start counting at (right at the beginning of the stitch), then another needle every 10 stitches. Makes it easier to keep track. Just gotta be careful with that method. :D

That's a great idea! I'll have to remember it.
