I know you're soccer mad, so I just have to ask what you think of TST? I've been watching it and loving it. The speed of the game, no offisides, target scoring, and the several other rules changes make it much more enjoyable for me than regular football. And I like regular football. I watched the early rounds Thursday and Friday and by the time I watched the FA cup final yesterday, I was thinking, "Ugh, this is slow and kind of boring. Give me TST!"

Do you like it, and would you like to see some/all of the rules used in regular football?

I just had to ask!

First, what is TST?
Second, tagging @Buzz Rules so he gets a notification.
It's "The Soccer Tournament." (Real original name, I know.) It's been airing on Peacock this weekend and it's 7v7 soccer with a smaller field, shorter games, and some other rules twists, played in an abbreviated world cup group format. Theres a million dollar prize for the winning team today. It's been really fun to watch.

The teams are made up of mostly retired players, or young college kids. Most of the current pros aren't playing. There was even a team of US Women. And there are women on some of the other teams, but the US team was the only all woman team. Sadly, they didn't make it out of the group stage. Still, though, it's been entertaining and I think I prefer it now to normal football. Much snappier and interesting for fans.

I should add that part of the allure for me is that there are no slide tackles allowed, so it cuts down drastically on the flopping around on the ground. Plus, with the short field and speed of the game, you can't be moaning on the ground. Every player is needed, so get up and play! Subs are made on the fly, too, so everything goes much faster.

I think the tournament is cool and can help get kids and adults more into the sport in general. However, I prefer association football by its current FIFA regulated rules. I have the same opinion on similar soccer offshoots like futsal. Tbh, I haven't watched much of the TST. I have been more interested in the U-20 World Cup (USA vs Uruguay Today at 4:30pm ET on Telemundo and FS2, just an FYI).
