A Question about Traffic

We have some friends coming in while we are staying at the GC. They will be staying near LAX. If I want to go pick up their children and bring them back to Disneyland, how will the traffic be leaving Anaheim at 6am, going to LAX and then immediately returning? Thanks.

I would suspect not wonderful. Based on our experience traveling during that time period the freeways seemed jammed and very slow going. I do not live there, hopefully other folks will chime in.

Good luck,

During the week you'll be travelling with the worst of the rush hour traffic. The only way to make that halfway palatable is to make sure you have 2 people in your car so you can take the carpool lane for the length of the 105 freeway. To get there from DL you'd go north on the 5, west on the 91, then north on the 605 for just a mile, then west on the 105. That will take you all the way to LAX, and if you're in the carpool lane you'll be passing lots of solo drivers in slow-and-go traffic.

If you do this on a Saturday or Sunday it's not so bad. Same directions as above, but maybe you wouldn't need the carpool lane.

Probably not good.

The last time I was at DL for pleasure was about 10 years ago and I don't have fond memories of driving to LAX going home.

We left four (4) hours ahead of time figuring we'd grab breakfast in/around the airport. Good thing there were three of us to be able to use the carpool lane. We BARELY made our flight between returning the car and getting to the gate. Remember, this was before 9/11.

Maybe your friends can drive the kids to you since you're taking them for the day.
