There seem to be some groups on the CB, Tagliarchy, ya-ya's, and some others that I have seen. Do you have to be invited to these or can you just come in and join? I was just wondering.

Barb, all are welcome to stop in and say hi to those groups! I am a regular on a few of those and everyone has always been very welcoming. I know with teh Ya Yas we usually pick up a few new people with a new "home" So feel free to stop on by and see what you think of us :)

I don't know about the others, but anyone is welcome to join the cheerleaders. We have a few people who have dropped in to visit and never left.

Drop by if you'd like.

Everyone is welcome on the 2 I post on, Humphry's Home (name of the bear outside the WL gift shop) & Clay fans.

PS: I did pop over to the Swan/Dolphin brd once. I had no interest in staying there, I was just being "nosy". They couldn't have been nicer to me!

Come by and join us in the TAGLIARCHY. Everyone is welcome there. We're quite friendly AND colorful. We just moved to a new home - Tagliarchy Island. Just a word of warning, we're a chatty bunch; only lasted in our old home for 2 1/2 weeks.

I think they are just groups of people that will discuss a variety of subjects- like talking with your friends over coffee. This is unlike regular threads where people just discuss a specific topic.

I was a Ya Ya at one time and they are VERY welcoming!! :) Join right in, they are a fun bunch!! :)

All the groups and fan clubs are very friendly. Usually they started because of a common interest but evolved into a social gathering. I popped in to the TAGLIARCHY thread to ask a question about the TAG FAIRY and never left. We're always looking for new friends, and we have plenty of

....that there are different groups here. That way, everyone can find something they like! Are there cliques? Yup. That's life. I say,if you want to be part of a group, keep posting. Sooner or later you'll be included. that's how it works!! Gotta be persistent!

that would be me! lol

i dropped by the cheerleaders thread one night and they were having the most fun...so i moved in! i've never even been to the swan or dolphin...

Thanks to all for answering. I may just someday drop in. But I'm sort of the shy type and it will probably take me awhile.

I can only speak for myself but......
As an original poster on the Angel thread.....I do not like it when the regular threads are referred to as 'cliquey'. I think that word gives a negative impression. Cliquey implies that they are snooty & exclusionary......in my experience none of these regular threads are those things!
They are just people enjoying chatting with each other & no one is excluded. I am sorry if people feel that they are being excluded but in reality nothing could be further from the truth.....everyone is not only welcomed but encouraged to join any & all of the threads!
Please stop by & say 'Hi'....stay & post regularly if you want to.....or stop in occasionally if that's more along the lines of what you would be comfortable with. We would love to chat with you!

Call me sensitive, or call me looking to start trouble...but don't call me a member of a clique, or exclusionary......Though I can't claim to be an "original" riddler, I am an "original" angel (in many ways )

I find it offensive that some people decide to spew ill will towards a group of friends simply having fun in their own little corner of cyberspace. Every thread isn't for everyone, and it's our individualism that makes the internet an interesting and fun place to come to share our space....but that doesn't make any individual thread on the CB a clique or exclusionary. You jump in where you find people talking about things that interest you....I have yet to find a thread where outsiders were blatantly shown to the door.

A group that congregates in the same area generally have like interests and hobbies and have something to talk about. Like a dinner party in the real world, if you don't have anything to talk about with the group standing near the windows, move to the group near the punchbowl.

With that being said.....I would like to formally welcome everyone to the daily riddle threads (which have experienced record numbers of new posters in the last 6 monthes...we must be doing something right....), and the Angel Thread. Stop by and see for yourself

You're always welcome in the land of Yaya's ;) Even if it's just to wave at us or see how mouthy we are :)

Barb, don't be shy about anything... just stop in and say hi to one or so... I know all the ones I visit will make you feel at home!

I have to echo Lars & Steph... I will not ramble on about them... but every thread I have stopped in on (and I have with many) have been very welcoming! Whether I stay or not, is my choice but never because I felt left out or not wanted.

Speaking as a member of the S/D "clique" - we talk about everything going on in our lives, and have yet to exclude anyone from joining in. We don't even have any "code words" or anything... ;)

And, Robin...we even have one of your "group" posting with us...so you wouldn't feel alone if you joined in.

Dan, you were once part of that scary group...is that scary or WHAT? :teeth:
