I would of put this on the techincal support board, but I am unsure if this would of fit there, so I thought I'd ask you guys.

After my brother fiddled with my laptop while I was on the toilet, I have decided to set a password on my laptop so he can't use it while I am on holiday (serves him right..). I have found ways to set a password, but I haven't found ways to turn them off. I don't wish to have a password on all the time; just while I am on holiday for two weeks.

Does anyone know how to turn a password off on Windows XP while I am on holiday? Any tips would be useful. Also, I would like it if I could disable new user accounts; setting up a password would be silly if he could bypass it.

I am still laughing at the "fiddled with my laptop while I was on the toilet" This really is more info than I needed. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Anyway, CONTROL PANEL, USER ACCOUNTS and select your user name, then CREATE A PASSWORD.

Then just remove it 2 weeks later.

Hope this helps

Steve

If you go into the control panel and then user accounts.

There are different types of accounts - what you want is an computer administrator account - this gives you permissions to delete any accounts he may have already created or disable his passwords etc!

Hope that helps!
