Well, I just got back from our trip to FW and feel as though I may need to apologize to some people. Please understand that I don't want to restart an argument thread.

While we were there, we saw the mobile detailing company and the results of their work on a MH in our loop. We decided to give them a call and felt that $75 for a full exterior wash was a pretty good deal and would save me a BUNCH of time that I just don't have to clean it myself. So we had them come out and clean our rig on Monday. We were not at the parks that day, but did go over to the pool while they were cleaning. I want to apologize to anyone who was near us in the 700 loop and was disturbed by this act. I did not fully consider how it may infringe on your vacation time, and for that I am truly sorry.

I don't want to be blacklisted on the Dis Camping Forum!:scared1:

Didnt bother me a bit.....I wasnt there!!! ;)

Thank you for the apology :)

Just wondering.........

while you were there, did you hang a clothesline or a hammock? :lmao:

You dont have one of those yappy little dogs that drives the entire loop nuts, yet brag about how well youve trained your perfect little pet, do ya?

Rob...you seem like a great guy. Appologizing for something no one even complained directly to you about....its people like you that keep these boards new! (Karla & I are just bustin on someones sack from another thread!!)

you do what you have to do. if you want it detailed go for it. i don't like hearing it just as much as the next person. but, they are allowed in and you are given the choice. sorry guys, but, it is what it is.

Scott can NOT say whatever he wants...but WE KNOW Scott!!! :)

I don't think you have any need to apologize. On our last trip in October, a MH in the loop behind us (separated by a river) had the service. It didn't bother us at all and we were hanging in the site the whole time.

The GG in October was my first time staying in one of the "fancified premium loops". Up until then I was in a partial loop and never saw the detail folks.

The actual cleaning doesn't bother me in the least bit, while I do realize it does bother others. I won't have it done at the Fort, cause mine is small enough to run by a standard wash it yourself bay. What annoys me is the companies trolling the loops.

I just hate being people trolling for business on any public venue. Yeah advertising is one thing, but pestering folks is another.

For example, one of my Facebook friends has the annoying habit of posting in his status that he would be happy to help us with our real estate needs. Yeah, a link to his business in his profile, fine, but trolling friends for business, blech.

If I want to purchase something or a service, I'll do the research and contact a company myself, but pester me, and you won't get my business!!
Oh, I do hang my towel inside my shelter, but it is a custom embroidered Mickey towel.

You Know, I've never heard of this service before, but I think it sounds magical, and I will use it during my next visit to the Fort. :wizard: I will also bring with me at least 400 feet of clothes line so as to have enough line to wrap my entire site so as to dry 30 or 40 bras. I am the underwear fairy:laundy:..and I'm sure that the ladies staying in the campground (and some of the men apparently:rolleyes1) will be needing my services while on vacation. :thumbsup2

Phyllis, I do believe you've hit on something ! What a great idea ! How could Disney possibly say anything about a service like that :thumbsup2
Heck , even I don't like to touch my own underwear ! But hav'n someone else laundry them and fresh air dry'd, well, YEAH BABY, I'm in !! :thumbsup2

The original poster's tag says "Working on my FIEND status"......I like this guy!!!

If the OP starts speaking of the virtues of beer, kungaloosh, and otters - he will have earned his "Fiend" status, IMHO!! :thumbsup2

Nah - I don't like listening to a day full of pressure washing, but neither did I like listening to the sound of buzz saws and heavy equipment when they were cleaning out the Fort.

FtW Mgmt allows for the wash companies to come in and drum up business. If you don't like it - don't diss the person using the service - start a "complaint campaign" to the Mgmt of the Fort.

To the OP - no apologies needed - but sharing beer will right any perceived wrongs. :lmao:

Only as long as you tie the rope or line so tight as to strangle the bark right of the trees you are hanging them on..otherwise, don't bother. Oh, and no undies with skidmarks!:scared1:

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I really was worried after reading the other thread that I may have disturbed the people around me, and by the looks of some of their setups I am fairly certain that some of them are most likely members here.

To answer some questions, We use a drying rack that we place outside the camper, so no clotheslines, but we do hang a hammock using very tree-friendly straps that won't damage the tree:thumbsup2

We have three dogs, none of which are "yappy." A chocolate lab, an english bulldog, and a basset hound, but none of them have been to the Fort. We do take them with us on trips to some state parks, but just one at a time because the trailer really starts to get crowded with two kids and multiple large dogs.

As far as a trip report...well, if I can drum up enough free time to really lay out what all we did I will try to do one. Otherwise I will just have to throw tidbits in here and there. This was our third trip to the Fort in less than a year, so I figure we are getting close to "Fiend" status.

Oh, and most importantly, if I can ever work it out to see any of y'all there, the beers at my campsite are free

Do you have people operating on the down-low and doing some recon work somewhere amongst us? Who told you the Fort Fiend member Secret Saying? I suppose they taught you the secret handshake as well? Spill it - we want names. :lmao:
