~ A PTR for a CAMPING Trip That Might Never Be ~ *TR Started (link inside)*

HIP-HIP-HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

That is great news!! I'm so glad you guys are going and getting to stay on property. I think you'll like POR. Don't miss the fun piano guy in the evenings. We caught the very end of his show and it was packed and everyone was having a blast! He is in the lounge next to the main lobby. It is open to all ages.

I'm not going to post a link to each of the small updates I've posted the past two days. So, I will give a quick recap of what's going on here for those that just use the links to follow along.

*My parents decided not to join us on this trip.

*Not only is Disney offerering the great deal on tickets for military, but they're also offering a 40% off code for room only bookings!

*We decided on dates for our trip: March 27th - April 5th (the first and last days of those dates are travel days - we'll actually be at Disney for 7 nights)

*We will be at Disney for both the Flower and Garden Festival AND my birthday!

And the big news.........................................

I just booked our stay at Port Orleans Riverside!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

The CM I spoke to didn't know anything about the military rate, but thankfully I had the code and it worked! 7 nights at POR for $934! :scared1:

Now that the hard part is over, I can begin planning our days and making the small amount of ADRs we'll be making.

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2:

Cool! I'll definitely make a note of that. I was also looking at your TR and was reminded of the carriage ride you did. I may have to book that. Can five fit in one carriage?

:cheer2: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :yay:

Oh yes! There are 2 bench seats facing each other. The 3 of us sat on one side. It was $35 and you have to call and make a reservation. It was a lot of fun. I'll try to find a picture of the carriage so you can see the seats.

Hurray for POR! You will love it there! We stayed there in 2004 and just loved it!

I'm really excited about it. :goodvibes

I have a basic plan for our days. We will have 5 day tickets and a free ticket to Sea World (all of us can get in free except for one).

Friday, March 27th - leave home and drive to SC

Saturday, March 28th - arrive in Orlando - check in and head to Epcot for the evening and catch Illuminations

Sunday, March 29th - Disney Studios

Monday, March 30th - my birthday! :cool1: Magic Kingdom and Wishes

Tuesday, March 31st - relax at the resort - DTD - maybe T-Rex Cafe

Wednesday, April 1st - back to Epcot (in our opinions, Epcot needs the most time)

Thursday, April 2nd - Animal Kingdom - lunch at CS of Yak and Yeti

Friday, April 3rd - Sea World

Saturday, April 4th - check out - do something special - maybe have lunch at Fort Wilderness

Suggestions are most welcome! At least I have a plan to work with.

So Carissa,
Do you think your Trip Report will take as long as your PTR? :confused3

Just trying to do some planning. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

LY/MI

Hey have you thought about on your down days (Tuesday/Saturday) maybe renting Water Sprites or a Pontoon Boat to cruise around. :boat:

You finally made it, slow poke!!

You obviously did not read my last PTR/TR here on the Dis. You would know that my PTRs are longer than the actual report. :rotfl:

Yes, I have considered renting something to cruise around in. Was it your report I read or was it Heidi's?? Someone did that. Think maybe it was Heidi. Who knows - you all blend together some days. :rolleyes1

LYMI! ;) Thanks for making an appearance Keith. :goodvibes

Our family would agree...that is the one park we felt we wanted to be sure we spent more time in on this trip! Good to know we are not alone! :cheer2:

The thing with Epcot is you could spend a few days in the World Showcase alone. Last time we did Future World in the morning and then headed to WS at lunchtime. We still only made it through a few countries. This time we'll start on the other side. We also didn't see Illuminations last time and the first time it was just Chuck, Sully and I. I love the start of Illuminations with the lights going off.

Ahhhh - I was having a blonde moment. You were making a joke about how long ago I started this PTR. Got it. :sad2: Just imagine how long the PTR would have been if we were still going to go in November like originally planned.

It was both of us, we did the Sprites and Heidi did the Pontoon Boat

My Pleasure, don't forget to mail me the $20 you promised if I stopped by.

And just to add my $.02 Epcot deserves extra time, it is our favorite park.
We always spent more time there then any other park. Even after all our trips I still walk around World Showcase and see something new eveytime.

See? I was right. :thumbsup2

The deal was $15 and that was only if you didn't say anything about it! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: (extra for you just cause I know how much you love that little blue guy  )

Definitely. Magic Kingdom is the most magical of the parks, but it's not my favorite - probably makes 3rd on my list.

Speaking of Epcot...

Those of you who read my last PTR/TR might remember that I really wanted to get a Henna Tattoo, but time ran out. :( Getting one on this upcoming trip would have been a top priority except that I recently got one at the local mall. :cheer2:

This is what it looked like when it was done:

And this is what it looked like the next morning after all of the dried stuff had flaked off:

So, I don't really feel the need to do that again. Jackie - I am curious to know if you ended up getting one during your trip.

The one thing that I would like to do again is get another pearl in Japan from the pick-your-own-pearl place and have it set. I think I mentioned somewhere in this PTR (or the last TR) that I lost it. :( I really want another one.

I'm wondering where to eat at Epcot. We'll really be trying to keep food expenses down so maybe a CS would be best. We like Sunshine Seasons food court, but I'd prefer to eat in the WS. Any suggestions? We've done the fish 'n chips in the UK.

We really enjoy Tangierine Cafe...at least DH and I do. It's not really kid friendly, but if you like that type of food I would recommend it. We also enjoyed Sommerfest, and the kids did as well. I LOVE the WS! :lovestruc

Chuck and I shared a plate at Tangierine Cafe last time. It was okay, but not my type of food. Chuck really liked it.

Where is Sommerfest? Germany?

Cool henna tattoo!

I did get one at Epcot last summer -- so did Chelsea -- we (Charles and I) tried the tangerine daiquiris -- delicious! We had a lot of fun in Morocco that day!

Chelsea got a pearl last yea, but didn't get it set -- that is one of her top priorities this next trip.

Yep, Germany. Giant hot dogs, Giant pretzels, German chocolate cake....YUMMMM...when do we eat!!?? ;)

It is part of Biergarten or totally separate? That may have to be on our list. Chuck is German afterall!

The daiquiris sound good. May have to give that a try. ;)
