a primer for a total newbie?

hi everyone! this is my first post here on the universal section of the dis! i've been to disney a bazillion times and am even a disney travel agent but i've never been to any park other than disney. i always just sort of thought that i was being a traitor if i went to universal.

and now i've realized that i really missed out on a lot! especially with harry potter now!

DH and i are DVC members and have a 19 month old son. i know absolutely nothing about universal. is there a primer for must sees? are there different strategies involved with going? can you do 2 parks in a day (i realize that that's a loaded question). we are thinking of maybe doing a universal/harry potter day on an upcoming DVC trip in october.

do they have baby swap like at disney? we just got back on saturday from WDW and baby swap was awesome! thanks everyone!!!!

Yes...Universal has Baby Swap at most attractions. The best place to start is to read the trip reports on the DIS and check out the Universal website...just to get a feel for the parks and where everything is located. You can also check out YouTube for ride videos for the attractions you are really interested in.

You could do both parks in a single day if you only want the hightlights. To do everything, you will need two full days.
