A Pre Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation, Our First Split Stay & Our 5th Trip to Disney!

Okay, I think I have my ADR's nailed down. Now off to see if I can make the changes online and get what I want. . . .

So what did you pick??? what was available??? Now I am curious! I hope you don't run into crowds. Are the park hours longer in Nov than Jan. We never did EMH and I found the hours shorter in 2009.

I'm still shocked :scared1: with your relaxed pace - I don't think I could do it. I am a don't sit still kinda gal - even if I am at my desk at work I am constantly doing something ( or 3 things at one time) :rotfl: We're also the family that say Wishes 3-4 times last Jan, so we love the repeats - we need as much as we can get... we did leave Epcot for Illuminations- which even surprised me- we have 2 nights to see it, both nights the view was awful , so we knew to call it quits. We went on Spaceship Earth instead one night- the CM warned us we'd miss the fireworks - I thought that was nice service. :)

Looks like I rambled again ! Reading your plans has made me get out of my funk, I am kinda not excited about this trip, and had debated cancelling:scared1:... not sure what is with me!

The November hours are a little longer than January's. MK is open til 8 most days, 7 on party nights, and 9 a few nights. Epcot it always 9-9. DHS is 8 most days. And AK is usually 5. (Those are just the week we will be there.)

Boy I sure hope I can help get you out of your funk! I'd hate to see you cancel your trip! :scared1:

I had just posted on another thread about my funk, seems to be common with some of us planners. I think if I had park hours I'd be more excites, my family says my doubts are normal and I went through them before - did I pick the right resort, did I pick the right time of year... and I am also dreading the down side of coming home :confused3... I think I should just move into the castle - :rotfl:that would solve everything

So what did you pick??? what was available??? Now I am curious!

Okay, I got all my ADR's straightened out! The restaurants are the same, just on different days. And we will not be going to DHS on arrival day now. We have 6 TS's on the free DDP. . .

Sat 7th - none
Sun 8th - WCC
Mon 9th - San Angel Inn (but planning on BRG)
Tues 10th - Sci-Fi Dine In
Wed 11th - none
Thur 12th - Kona Cafe breakfast / LeCellier
Fri 13th - Captain's Grill (but may go to B&C instead)
Sat 14th - CP (paying OOP)

They look great... WCC we did the breakfast - service was great!! Kona Cafe - Tonga Toast yummy yummy!
I was planning on a Captain's Grill as well - will also give us a sneak peak at the YC !

I just read on our Jan 2010 thread CP is closed for refurb in Jan :sad1:This has always been a must do... I will always remember this was my first Character meal I booked as DD love Pooh at the time... it was huge deal for us! then in 2009 we went for dinner and breakfast!

Well hopefully the January hours will be out soon and you will start feeling better about things. :wizard:

We are doing WCC dinner, I hope it's good. I am excited to try Kona too! We may or may not do Captain's Grill. We'll see if we are in the mood for it or if we just want sandwiches & ice cream we will try B&C.

I read that about CP on the January thread. That is such a bummer for you guys. :sad2: CP was our first character meal too! We went there for DS's 4th birthday on our very first trip. So it's always been special to us too. We did breakfast there on our first and second trip, dinner there on our third trip, and skipped it on our fourth trip :scared1:, so we are definitely headed there for breakfast this time!

Those sound great, Shelly! A really good variety. We went to San Angel Inn in 2006, and I can't even remember what we had, but I knew it had mixed reviews before we went. It was our first TS of the trip, and we really enjoyed it, especially the atmosphere. So I guess the food wasn't terrible. Before the Dining plan, we never ate at TS restaurants, so it was special for us!

:woohoo::woohoo: Yippee for your 45 days to go :woohoo::woohoo: You guys must be so excited. I can't wait until we're in double digits!!!

Your ADRs look great. I"m going to have so much fun making mine. We did the QDP last time so I have not had the pleasure of making ADRs yet.

Sci Fi and San Angle Inn are on my must do list too.

Good to hear something positive about San Angel!

And I just snagged another ADR! Someone posted on the November ADR thread that they were cancelling a breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey's on the 13th, so I grabbed it! :thumbsup2 I know after the last trip (and our 3rd time in a row at CM) I said we were skipping it this time. But we have never done breakfast there. Not sure we will keep it. This is our "change resorts day". Now I have to rethink that day's plans once again! :upsidedow

Making ADR's is so exciting!! :woohoo: Make sure to check out the online system ahead of time and mess around with it a bit so when your day comes you will be all ready!! :thumbsup2

So this came in the mail yesterday and was laying on the kitchen counter when the boys got home. Didn't take them long to spot it! Being the money conscience kid that he is, DS10 says - can we afford to stay there? :rotfl:

I think I requested some DVC info once a long time ago and they just continue to send me stuff all the time!

Shelly!! 45 days is awesome!! of course...that is your pay-by-date...so that really makes it real!! And, my son who is 10 would be the one to comment about the money as well! That is hilarious!!!! I am gonna check out the BLT while we are there....Sheree (MNDisneygirl) will be there..she said we could look at her room!!! She is gonna look at mine too! Ha!! What? You mean you don't go through your mail everyday looking for Disney mail first??!! :rotfl: Okay, so maybe you have a more exciting life than I do!

Thanks for the 45 day party!! :cool1: :woohoo:

I just happened to be on the right thread at the right time to grab that CM breakfast ADR! :goodvibes That was lucky! I'm not sure how it is going to work out with switching resorts that morning, but we'll see. At least it's there if we can work it out to be able to go! :thumbsup2 I wonder how the breakfast is there. . . Anyone been? We've done dinner there 3 times, but never breakfast.

Big news here this afternoon! DS10 got selected for 5th Grade Student Council!! He is beyond thrilled! I knew elections were this morning and that he had his heart set on it. So at the bus stop this morning I told him good luck and not to be too sad if he didn't make it and if he was sad to remember that he would be in Disney World in 45 days! He said - yeah, but I'm still going to be sad if I don't make it. Then he got off the bus this afternoon with a big smile and I knew it went well!!

He is so happy! It's so funny how different kids are. DS7 was like - yeah, I probably won't even try out for it when I'm in 5th grade! :rotfl: I'm not surprised. It does take effort, and he has very little (and he's proud of it!)! :lmao: But something like this means the world to DS10.
