I was very upset when DVC decided to reallocate points, but this year the way our schedule has worked out we will have to stay at least one weekend night if not two. Now that the weekend points are more in line with the Sun_Thurs points it allows me to stay on the weekend without completely depleting everything banked. I couldn't see that back then but while I miss the lower Sun-Thurs points I do appreciate now that I have more options.

I was surprised when I was planning next December's VWL stay. A studio is only 1 point more on Fri/Sat compared to the rest of the week. We've done weekends consistently over the course of our membership.

still unhappy here, it cost more points than we bought to stay for our week. 4 points more exactly.

I am happy with reallocation. I only stayed Sun thru Thursday because weekends were so high. Now I utilize the weekends. The reallocation worked for me.

I think you have hit on what DVC is hoping to accoplish and that is to change peoples vacation habits to start including those weekends again. Although, I will be quite honest, I expect in 5-6 years to see a very slight (in comparison) point reallocation back the other way. Once people begin consistently begin booking their trips to include two weekends (because the points costs are minimal) is suspect they will want to make it a little more costly (but not nearly what it used to be).

Agree, Our schedule changed too and this is better, point pinching is a ruff game. So much for staying off property to save a few bucks. pirate:

It is the Christmas Season. Time to remember good things and ignore the things that really irritate. No comment....:sad2::santa:

I'm still really upset about the reallocation to be honest. When we bought in 2008 we bought 160 points. We got a great deal including developer points. Had I known then that the charts would be reallocated I would have bought more points. The price per point was so good compared to now. It makes me mad. I guess our only choice is to eventually add on.

5 nights/6 days Sun-Thur nights at SSR Dream Season was 155 points for a 2 bedroom villa. The same exact trip now is 195 points. It makes me so mad. I would have bought 200 or more points had I known.

I still wish they had not, but I have adapted by selling a 150 and buying a 210 contract. I guess it served its purpose although when I get low on points I may rent a 5 day bonnet creek weekday since they are still much less than the weekends there, so DVC may end up with to much weekend demand now.

Looking at the point usage for our last 6 stays, our required points has increased.

Over the last couple of weeks I made it a point to talk to various CM's and asked them what the busiest days are for the DVC resorts. The reply was unanimous, Friday and Saturday are the most booked nights of the week. :confused3

My solution to not having enough points for our normal 2 -5 night stays is quite the opposite. I want to sell the smaller contract to eliminate that second stay. We found that we really enjoy cruising more. I just can't get Mr Muush to let go!

And I agree with you on Bonnet Creek. We will probably also use them if we get rid of that smaller contract but go twice a year every once in a while.

We also like the old way best. We used to be able to stay 5 nites in a two bedroom at OKW in the summer and now the same amount we used for the 2 bedroom now gets us the 1 bedroom.

I have not been keeping up with the DVC boards since the summer and am happily surprised that my 2 bedroom BLT reservation for next summer is 10 points less than when I booked it....and it seems that the points I had borrowed to make this reservation were put back into the original use year also!!

Under my normal traveling schedule I am with you 100%. This trip we must stay on the weekend so it is more beneficial this particular trip.
