We were fortunate enough to stay 5 nights at the Polynesian. Yes, it lived up to everything I had hoped it would be and more. I actually almost cried when we left. This review will not only be of the awesome restaurants at the Poly but others as well throughout DW. We were on the regular dining plan which was way too much food for us, but it was nice to order what every I wanted and not worry about the price. Also I know we came out way ahead with the dining plan so it was very much worth it in the end. After careful planning on allears.net I used the dining plan to it's full advantage.
We arrived on Sunday went straight to the MK. We skipped lunch, except my DH and I shared a corndog and my inlaws had some popcorn, which we paid OOP for. Disney popcorn is so good it's not funny, and I don't even like corndogs and their's are heaven!!
Our first DDP experience was at the highly recommended Kona Cafe! I was so excited, we were seated right away and there were empty tables at 6:45 PM, which was suprising. The hostess showed us the display of desserts, that looked wonderful. At this point I was really hungry only having eaten a few bites of that delicious corndog earlier. Our server was very nice and brought us the bread and butter. It was awesome!! Both my DH and ordered the Terayaki Steak with Yukon gold mash potatos, and steamed broccoli cooked medium. My mother in law had a cup of chicken noodle soup, and my father in law had the Asian Noodles. Our steaks were wonderful and I could not get enough of the potatos. I forgot the get a picture of our steaks
For dessert my DH ordered the Kona Kona (mainly b/c I wanted to take a picture of it), and I had some sort of fruit dish with fondue and macaroons. The macarooms were as hard as a rock, not very good. The fruit was nice. Out of a scale from 1-10, I would rate the Kona Cafe an 8.
