OK so many of you want to follow Daisy's progress since you all waited for her with me for sooo long so I decided I needed a central place for her pics & progress reports.
Instead of making it so narrow I decided we should all be able to share pics of our horse love whether it be our own horses, the beloved Main St and carousel horses or just to discuss things like all my venting about the wait this spring or sharing advice and stories about our horses.

First Pic Rowan & her daughter Daisy today at 24 hours old.

Sherri, she is just a beauty.

So cute Sherri! Thanks for sharing with us.

Wow!! What wonderful picture Sherri!! Thank you for sharing them Sherry.

Thank you for sharing the pictures with us. I know you guys are sick of the weather but I kinda miss "winter" since I live in sunny Arizona. We did have snow for a couple of hours this year!

Part of the reason we left Arizona was to get real seasons. This season has been a little too long and too harsh though. There was an opinion piece in our local paper that said someday we would be telling the young ones about the winter of 2010-2011 and how bad it was.

Ah, just saw this thread coming over from the other "Main Street Horses" thread. Congratulations again on having Daisy join the family! And thanks for sharing these precious pictures with us!! :goodvibes

Thanks Sharri for posting the link to this thread on the Main Street Horses thread.

Your pictures are so darling and they gave me a great big smile this morning. Made my day! I am looking forward to seeing Daisy grow up and the pictures of your other horses, too.

I just took pictures of Pocket before we took him to Thatcher School (where Richard Winters lives). As soon as I get them downloaded on Photobucket, I'll post some of him and Lena.

Can't wait to see your pics! So excited to see how Pocket's training goes!

Now that the snow is starting to melt my horses are all about rolling and scratching their shaggy coats off. (this winter was so bad that some of them looked like wooly mammoths I swear!) So no matter how much brushing I do they always look dirty and ragged this time of year while they shed their winter coats and roll around in the mud!... Wait til you see them all shiny and pretty in their Summer coats!

So we now have pics up of all MY horses Skye, Rowan, Bullseye and the new addition Daisy and we also have another little one coming along later this summer as Skye is also expecting.

I have also been clicking away with their pasture mates. So in addition to mine I will also be showing off my Mother's horses Freckles, Ginger and Ginger's daughter Spice who is almost a yearling. Ginger is expecting again this year too. My sister also has Hannah at our pasture and she will be giving birth in about a month.

If anyone wonders why so many babies this year.. and/or why Ginger didn't get a year off... Well my Mom used to have a Stallion too and he became a bit of an escape artist last summer he got Rowan way too early as we would never have planned for Rowan to have a March foal (even though she made it to April) Hannah was bred on purpose but Ginger was another escape breeding. We bought Skye in October and totally blew it as she was in estrus when we brought her home... Barron broke 2 fences to get to her and now we have another foal due at a dicey time of year since she will be due in September and the baby will have to bulk up fast to make it through the winter... Lots of work for us next winter!...He also managed to get to 3-4 other mares in our vicinity...Thus Mom no longer owns a stallion and we will have babies popping up all summer!

:goodvibes These pictures are so cute, so cute.

Can I ask what Colton has in his water bottle that is Green?

It was actually green & purple LOL

It was a slushy from one of our local convinience stores where we stopped to get drinks before we headed out to the pasture...he insisted it was finally warm enough for his first slushie of the spring.

And that is why there is a rule about not boarding stallions on the ranch where board our horses! They are pretty determined beasts when it comes to mares in season. You have quite a lot of work to do. It should be a fun once all the foals hit the ground. I can just see them frolicking in your pasture. It would make a pretty picture.

Over the course of the summer he broke 3 fences, the barn wall and 2 count them two stallion proof pens... Mom loved him and he was sweet as sugar until someone was in heat and then he was a crazed thing. After three years he was getting too expensive to keep even though he had a good pedigree the money he brought in didn't come close to covering the money it cost to keep repairing what he broke or buying new stuff to contain him...

You know there will be pics of that! And everyone keep your fingers crossed that Skye throws us a little paint pony!

I am not surprised about the amount of damage a stallion will do to get to his mares. Too bad about having to find him a new home. He sounded like he had a great disposition.

I just learned that our ranch is getting a new boarder and one of their mares is expecting. I'm going to have a little foal to follow and see grow up first hand. I have witnessed a foal being born, but that has been a long time ago. Should be on the ground in May.

I finally got pictures of Pocket on Photobucket. He is a Paint, but has very little white, but he is registered as a Paint. He barely passed. Here are a couple of pictures.

The first two pictures were taken at the stables where we board him. We can trail ride into the back country you see in the pictures. The stable is located on a 7,000 acre working cattle ranch, and we have access to all the trails on the property. The bottom picture was taken at Richard Winter's place. He is a little excited. When we left, he was calling for us. I was told that he kept on running around the round pen, because the two other horses he rode with were in a bigger arena above him. He kept calling out to them. I got lucky when a fellow boarder just happened to be taking a lesson with Richard and offered to take Pocket up to him. Since we don't own a trailer, I jumped on it. I got extra lucky, cuz I was able to get a report from her after we left, since she was there for a couple of hours for her lesson.

Why is his name not One Sock?

Are there lots of fences and gates on the ranch or can you stay on the horse and ride miles?
