I wanted to let every one know I received an e-mail last night. From Alex I have copied the e-mail for every one to see. WE DID IT

The webmasters have discussed your request for a forum for single parents and we feel it would be an enhancement to the boards.

The forum has been created as a sub-forum under Disney for Families

One thing to keep in mind is we do need a reasonable amount of traffic to keep a forum open so you will want to see if you can get people to participate

I’m going to post an announcement for a few days so people will know it’s there

If you send me a link to any threads you have created on this topic I will move them with a forwarding link , that will help get things started.

I think it's great that a separate forum was started, but wasn't this thread supposed to be about single cruising parents? I'm sure single parents going to WDW will benefit also from the forum, but to me being this thread was started as a thread about single cruising parents, it seems like the new forum should be within the "Disney Cruise Line Forum" section. Just saying.

Yea....I'm a single mom of a 13 yr old boy and we've done 2 cruises and multiple WDW trips just the two of us since he was 2. We are going on our 3rd cruise to Alaska in Aug. I'd be happy to join the group.

I'm a single mom who's willing to help out. I've done WDW, DCL, and other land trips. Never been married. Kids are now 16 & the other will turn 10 next month. Both boys. I am surprising them with Alaska next month. Can't wait for that one. There is a solo parent forum however it's tucked under the WDW section I think. Not for DCL exclusively.

Hi abitagirl916- one of the things we have to watch out for is fragmenting the boards too far. We have had several requests for a Single parents forum and I'm hoping there is enough traffic to sustain that. I very much doubt there is enough traffic to sustain a single cruising parents forum.
The whole concept would be a group of people with singular issues, single parents, sharing their Disney experiences whether in the parks, on a cruise or maybe everyday life issues. I think we can make that work as a forum!

Okay. Totally understand. It's just nice sometimes to have the threads that are specific to cruising. But at least where it is, it is still all about Disney. I hope it stays noticeable enough for single parents to find it, whether for a WDW, Disneyland trip, or a DCL cruise.
