6:30AM my body jilts awake soaked. What on earth? Oh yes, that's right it's really 9:30 back home. This was nice until we got used to the time difference. But that still doesn't explain waking up in puddles of sweat What on earth was going on. Checked the air conditioning- on middle of the cold setting which is usually sufficient for us. Groggily I turned on the laptop and checked the weather. 100 DEGREES! 100 DEGREES! WHAT?!?!?
I had just checked the weather for our trip two days earlier- we were supposed to have weather in the 70's all week! What was going on!?!? Now the weather was in the 100s for the remaining time we had a Disney. We checked the weather over in Vegas- same thing.
What we didn't know was for the first 12 days of our honeymoon every day would go to over 100 degrees. More amusing is the next 10 days we would spend in the snow.
But back to today.
We dressed for the heat and made our way over to Mimi's for breakfast which is a very cute restaurant right next to HOJO's that gets rave reviews on the Dis.
Mimi's did not disappoint. Jay and I both got french toast with our breakfast meats (I'm into sausage, he's a bacon guy...tomato, tomatoe) and sides (I had berries he had eggs...apples and oranges we are).
We then had our walk over to the land. We arrived right at park opening which was perfect and made our way through the tunnel.
Who else loves that sign?
We decided to make our way over to Space Mountain since we had never ridden the new version. It was FANTASTIC! So much better than Space at Disneyworld. Major differences- you can sit next to each other. The ride goes MUCH faster. The stars/galaxies are much more vibrant and impressive. A must see!
You'll notice in this picture that Honey I Shrunk the Audience is in
Disneyland as well as Star Tours.
We decided to ride Matterhorn after this which is kind of a kiddie version of Everest. Think of a wild mouse going through a mountain meeting the Abominable Snowman. While waiting on line we contemplated sitting together in the little car or having room and sitting separate as there was a divider inside the vehicle. The only people sitting together were really children with their parents but a few couples were doing it so we decided to give it a go. BIG MISTAKE. This is a very jerky ride and both of us suffered several injuries by being squeezed together. Let's just say "the family jewels" weren't doing too great. Sorry hubby! Can you see the forced smile?
Following this we decided to ride Alice which I was super excited for. While on line I took various pictures of the area.
This was a very cute dark room ride with various scenes from the movie which we enjoyed immensely and are saddened that we won't be able to ride it in Disneyworld.
After exiting Jeremy decided he had had enough of the finance world and was going to deem himself King of the land.
Things obviously didn't work out much to his chagrin.
We made our way over to Pinocchio which is another dark room ride in Fantasyland. Also very cute and enjoyable and we really enjoyed riding these rides which are not in the World.
Following Pinocchio we made our way over to Toon Town. Toon Town is much different than in Disneyworld. While overall it looks better I believe it's much less organized. There is no actual building to meet and greet characters. They're out sparatically and it's a matter of finding them and getting in MASSIVE lines to meet them.
Jeremy became firefighter for the day
However, there is a Roger Rabbit ride in Toontown which is SUPER FUN! It is a dark room ride that utilizes a vehicle with a spinning feature that you either perpetuate or diminish based on your vomit factor. Great time!
I almost got killed on the way out!
Jeremy was being a very bad boy and was put under arrest
But a last we were reunited bride and groom once more
Chip and Dale have their own tree house here in the land so we checked that out.
As you can see we were getting a little picture happy here.
