A Pirate and a Princess Go to the World......Updated Ch. 12/pics/COMPLETE

We did another Mickey wake up heave ho hang up this morning.

The thing was, there weren't really any crowds in the park so it wasn't necessary to get to the park before opening to ride all the rides. I would highly suggest going to Disney at least once for this reason alone.

The weather was again terrible, which I found out, once again AFTER doing my hair. However, we were in good spirits. Finally we were making our way to MGM and I couldn't be happier.

We made our way over to the bus stop and onto the bus. We found two seats but Jeremy was kind enough to stand up so a little girl could sit down. This same little girl, combined with her father and brother behind me proceeded to cough on me the entire way to MGM.

It was actually comical because the girl would literally turn to me and then go "CAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHH"....this repeated until arriving at the studios and me running to the bathroom to wash my hads and face in a frenzied manner. Plllllease.....please, teach your kids to cover their mouth for gods sake!

It was starting to rain and I had just the thing for the occasion- ponchos! Jeremy, not thrilled with the situation....

Jeremy Kate, I'm not wearing those stupid things
Me But honeyyyyy, you don't want to make me wear them all myself do you??? ::while batting eyelashes:::
Jeremy Yes, yes in fact I do

I can see that

We made our way through the gates and a couple that we kept running into during our whole trip was nice enough to take a picture of the two of us in front of the sorceror mickey hat :cutie:

We hadn't eaten breakfast yet so we headed over to the Starring Rolls Cafe and used some of our CS to get bagels, drinks and sugar cookies which we stored for later. Everything was great, and we were lucky enough to get a table under an umbrella so we didn't get soaked. I love this cafe and we make a point to eat here every trip.

We were kind of indecisive about what we wanted to do. It was already around 11am and we weren't really in a show kind of mood. We had just scene Little Mermaid and Beauty and The Beast a few months ago and just didn't have the longing for it like we, well I, normally do so we decided to do a little shopping in the Villains store (I lovvvvvvvvvve that store)

This was followed by our decision to see Muppet Vision 3-D, one of my favorite attractions in all of Disney World. It's so cute, I especially love when Fozzy throws the pie at the audience and when the little guy (the name is escaping me) that represents 3D turns to Mickey at the end with all the fireworks. So fun!

It was starting to clear up so we were able to get rid of the ponchos making us both happy. We didn't really have a plan as there wasn't much that we wanted to accomplish at the park so we strolled our way over to the Animation Academy, another one of my personal favorites.

P2030453.jpg

There was a little bit of a wait so I explored the que area seeing all the concept art for the animated films. I find this area so fascinating, seeing what all of the characters were originally intended to look like. Just look at the animation style of Pocahontas before they went back to the drawing boards!

P2030457.jpg

After watching the hilarious video about Mushu's creation we entered the drawing room. So far we had already drawn Donald on our first trip and Minnie on our second so we had our fingers crossed to draw someone else. Goofy it was! Unfortunately we weren't able to sit together because the room was already full but I sat next to a nice family, so I couldn't complain too much. Both of ours came out okay, just another addition to the collection (we save all of these in a memory box at home :cloud9: )

We exited and took the personality test and I (suprise, suprise) came out as Tinker Belle. Jeremy wasn't interested in finding out his hidden personality so we made our way over to sing some tunes at the next machine deciding on Heigh Ho. We love this little area! So much to do!

On our way out we found Mr. Incredible

P2030458.jpg

And learned yet again that Lilo and Stitch was supposed to be set in the mid-west but at the last minute was put to the Polynesian (think they were trying to up the sales at the Poly much on that one?).

It was time to get seats for the parade and we found AMAZING ones. There's this little set of stairs by Drew Carey that people aren't allowed to stand in front of but are allowed to sit on in the direct route of the parade. It is fantabulous!

Jeremy went off in search of ice cream and was gone for a VERY long time. Finally I turned my cell phone on and called him to make sure everything was okay and he was VERY grouchy

Jeremy What is is Kate?
Me: I'm just making sure you're okay
Jeremy The people who work here are completely incompetant
Me So just come back....
CLICK

.....well that was a bit unnecessary. He then proceeds to come back and yell at him for making him leave the line. Well, we had a pre newlywed undisney moment there and scared off just a few kiddies :rolleyes1 Sorry. I ended up going back for the ice cream and finally all was well right before the parade started.

Our seats were awesome, and I know I'll never get these pictures again so here they are for your viewing pleasure......

Weren't those fabulous?

Anyway, we had dinner reservations in another couple hours at 50's Prime Time Cafe so that we would be able to see Fantasmic but nothing else that we really wanted to see. We debated our options before deciding to forget Fantasmic, as we knew we were going to see it at Disneyland on our honeymoon (NOT knowing that it will be under refurbishment :headache: ), change our ADR's to Les Chefs de France and head over to EPCOT.

To Be Continued Shortly

Makes me so sad that no one laughed at his "getting to Disney" story. Poor thing- I could feel the awkwardness of it through your writing..:confused3

That makes me sad :guilty:

Good installments though! Can't wait for more!

Love all of your pics by the way!:thumbsup2

I was laughing at your comment how you could go to PI in sweats and not get turned away at the door :rotfl: I know the NYC scene too well. Last time I was home we got turned away from some bar b/c my friend's jeans weren't quite dark enough

I cannot believe no one thought your story was funny! What's wrong with those people?? I'm so sorry, that must have been such an awkward moment.

I'm enjoying your TR and pics so much :)

I find Jeremy's fake-y poisoning story and butt shot funny..so there no sense of humor comedy club people!!!
YAY for LeCellier..can't wait to try that place :)

HI MA pigletfan! I was thinking about how everyone on the dis thinks it's funny and I htink it's because we're all goofy and kid-hearted so we can appreciate the humour in things...as opposed to the parents who don't "get it" and just bring their kids so their children can have a good time. Oh well. At least we disers do! Le Cellier was amazing, you definitely need to go!

How could people not find that funny? I was laughing so hard when I read that part of your TR. We loved LeCellier too, going back in Aug. can't wait!

Thanks so much for your support, I'm really happy you enjoyed it :goodvibes Le Cellier is soooooo good. Oh what I would do to be eating there right now!!! :cloud9:

Aww, thanks so much for your sympathy! Yeah, it was unfortunate but thankfully we had had a couple drinks or it would have been wayyyyyy more awkward :lmao: .

Hahaha. I know, it's ridiculous here with the dress codes. Why did you end up moving to Atlanta?

Thanks for your sympathy! Like I said above, it was a good thing we were buzzed because if not it would have been much more awkward!! :rotfl:

In the picture with Mr. Incredible, you have hidden Mickey's on your shoes. Yes, I notice weird things like that.

That's actually kind of strange/freaky because that's not the first time that the light reflected off my shoes like that. The last time I did a TR someone noted the exact same thing! Do I have a Disney ghost?

I love your trip report!! You and Jeremy remind me so much of my boyfriend and I.

I found it so sweet that Jeremy faked being sick to ensure your guys could go on your trip.

Once again we made the mistake of taking the boat transportation. Not realizing how close the resort hotels are to the International Gateway we actually sat on the boat while it went to the Swan and The Dolphin....and The Yacht Club........and The Beach Club.......until finally we were dropped off 10 feet from the first stop. You would think they'd make an announcement or something?

We still had an hour until our reservation so we walked over to France to check in and I decided to get un kir, which I'd heard about a million times in French classes over the years. It's a very social/party drink over in France. Really it didn't taste anything that special, it was champagne with some kind of fruit syrup to give it a berry bubbly flavor. It was good, but wasn't worth $12!

P2030498.jpg

A show was starting up and we went to see what all the commotion was about. Low and behold it was serveur amusant. Serveur Amusant is the show that consists of the guy with the whistle who does the chair show with the other little guy (yeah I guess there's a reason I'm not a sports announcer, huh...I can just see it now..."the guy over there headed left, no right and the other guy has the ball? what ball? a football? no, I mean a soccer ball!").

While the show was getting started I made the mistake of making eye contact with the guy and was pulled dead center and was picked to try to copy the ridiculous postures and dance moves he was doing. I felt very silly but was a good sport, after all it was all in good fun! Sadly I had the camera so no pictures were taken but, c'est la vie. The show was tres amusant, so I highly recommend watching (or participating!) in it.

After the show they were calling in the reservations and I saw a very disturbing display of true family love. A pair of parents were walking in, obviously loaded off of alcohol. The mom while walking in announces "I feel like we're forgetting something...?". The Dad behind her yells..."yeah, our two kids!". The kids were playing about 50 yards from them and couldn't have been older than 4 years old. Now I'm all for drinking, but if you have children in the picture please one person stay cognitive of them, or hire a babysitter!

These same parents were so obnoxious that we actually asked the hostess to please not seat us near them!

We had window seating which added unexpected romance to this brightly lit restaurant! We ordered a round of drinks (I was finally back into Bacardi and Diet Coke mode knowing our vacation was soon after and the scale would be beckoning me back home).

P2030503.jpg

Jeremy decided on the escargot while I had the Lobster Bisque. I had read so many rave reviews of the soup that when I came I was actually very disappointed. I was expecting lump pieces of lobster, but there was no lobster in all of the soup! Not one piece! So if this is what you are expecting don't order it, as you'll be setting yourself up for disappointment! For our entrees I had the filet of perch with lobster mousse. Sorry that I didn't take dining photos this trip but I give a HUGE rave review for this dish. It was absolutely delicious, and also pretty low calorie so it's perfect for an end trip dish! Jeremy had steak and also loved his meal! For dessert I ordered some sort of pistachio cookie with ice cream (although this wasn't at all how it was described on the menu) that was at best a C. However, Jeremy ordered the chocolate cake. I can honestly say I've never tasted anything that good in my life. That cake was beyond wonderful. Savory warm just absolutely delicious. I can't begin to describe, all I can say is it is worth going to this restaurant for the cake alone....I know I will never have cake that good again in my life!!!

After dinner we decided to go to Downtown Disney to get a bit of shopping done. Tomorrow night we were leaving to go home so we wanted to invest in at least one souvenier (remember, we were SERIOUSLY budgeting on this trip).

When we first arrived it was raining but it tampered off after awhile. We still had counter service meals left so we decided to go to Earl of Sandwich to pick up some sandwiches for us to eat the next day since it was our last day of dining. We couldn't resist sneaking a bite.......my god! It really is worthy of the raves! We ordered the original 1777 (something like that). Delicious!

We wandered around all the stores just taking it all in for awhile. We went to the big toy store and I found the Finding Nemo Musical Soundtrack. I went on line to purchase it and once finished I couldn't find Jeremy anywhere. A ha!

P2030509.jpg

P2030510.jpg

How did I know I'd find him here? :rotfl:

We made our own computer potato heads which was fun. I wish I had taken a picture because both of ours were so silly with goofy heads, donald feet, minnie eyes, etc!

P2030511.jpg

Jeremy wanted to go to the ESPN store so we headed over there to check out the merchandise. I found this really cute Mickey Yankee bobble/head that would have been perfect for Jeremy's work desk but he (yet again) was being cheap so refused to buy it...men :confused3 Pete wasn't too happy about this. Run Jay, run! He has a bat!

P2030514.jpg

Finally we made our way to the World of Disney store. Oh I could honestly spend hours here. They had all this cute stuff out for Valentine's Day that I wanted to buy but the financial Nazi (aka Jeremy) ended up not letting me buy anything (thinik..."Kate, we have the wedding and the honeymoon to pay for bark bark bark"). All we ended up walking out with was two boxes of cookies that we used our remaining snack credits on. Boooo!

Conspiring ways in my mind to buy things so Jeremy wouldn't notice :cutie:

P2030515.jpg

We were pretty tired after all our NON SHOPPING so we decided to take the boat back to our resort. Little did we know that on this lovely open boat at a brisk 40 degrees that a monsoon was about to occur. Grrrrrrrrrrreat. 25 minutes, and three showers later we made it back to our room just in time to not catch pneumonia. Or would we?

Up Next: Finally finishing off EPCOT, and the airport superbowl

Great TR... reminds me of how much fun me and my DH had on our "before baby" Trips.... Once in November (5 years ago) it was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and we thought... huh... we are going to have a few days off work.... lets go to Disney World!!!
Now we still have fun but have to be worried about naps & diaper changes :)
BTW - our little man is almost two and already covers his mouth when he coughs. :thumbsup2

Hi Nat! Thanks for responding! We're basically trying to squeeze out as many spontaneous trips/travel as possible in the next five years before we have kids. Also, great to hear that at two years he's so respectful! Must be a special little guy :goodvibes

Another great installment! Can't wait to hear about finishing off EPCOT, and the airport superbowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why did you end up moving to Atlanta?

I went to college and grad school in SC and fell in love w/ DF  He's in Atlanta for the next 2 years finishing med school so I am stuck here. Can't you tell I love this place  As soon as he's done, we're moving to NJ though. It will always be my "home" :cloud9:

Awww. That's sweet. Well, you're almost done.......and then you'll be back here under the scrutiny of hostesses enforcing dress codes everywhere ;)
