A quick review of our perfect week at WDW. We just returned tonight.
1st night-Cinderella's Castle
Off the plane at 4:00 and to the Castle for 8:15 reservations! First I would like to second the thought that you do not go to the Castle for the food, really not even for Cinderella. You go for the atmosphere. Having never been there and with DDs 5 & 6, it was perfect. Would we do it again. No. Interaction with Cinderella was less than was we found over in Toon Town. Food was OK, but really rushed. Honestly, we felt so rushed that we left over 1/2 the entree...but it was still perfect. I knew going in from really other reviews that we were not going for the food.
2nd night-1900 Park Fare.
Character interaction A+ We also have an infant who kept crying. Stepmother would yell around the room for her to be quiet. Very cute. DD5 was headed for desert. Prince Charming found her, bowed and danced. Twirled her round and round 3 times. It was again perfect. Food B+. This again was a very rushed experience. With characters stopping by the table it was hard to eat. Food was OK but not outstanding. Would we go again, Yes.
3rd night-Captains Grill
Outstanding Service. Food A+. My DH accidentally left my purse on the bus from POP to HS
The staff at the Yacht Club helped to located it (it had been turned in at HS) at then drove me to get it. Refused to accept a tip. we were so impressed that we went back our last night. We had crab legs both nights. I love crab legs and both nights they were amazing. Would we go again, Yes.
4th night-Artist Point
Rude waitress. Not sure if she didn't like children or what. Wondered at times if she forgot we were there. Ordered the Buffalo steak. C+. Would we go again, No.
5th night-Rose and Crown
This was my husband's birthday. We had 7:45 reservations and were seated at an outside table closest to France (not sure of my directions at Epcot). Perfect, perfect perfect. Food A+, Service A+. Atmosphere A+ Would we go again, Yes.
6th night-Chefs de France
Service A+. Ordered Steak and DH ordered seafood platter of scallops and shrimp. Food was B+, steak was overdone, actually charred and scallops were a bit underdone. Remi came and service made up for the food. Would we go again, Yes.
Counter Service
Pizza at the Pop--Must do. Absolutely delicious. Huge amount of food for 2 counter service. Food A+
Sunshine Seasons--Great. I ordered Ham & Swiss sandwich and DH ordered sweet & sour chicken. Both were out of this world Food A+
Cosmic Rays--Chicken & Ribs---Food was OK but this is a very busy place and was very loud.
Wolfgang Pucks at Marketplace-Pizza and Spaghetti--Service A+, Food A+
There were more CS but these were the best.
Overall thoughts. Going into this week, I thought we would want the Deluxe plan. Coming home, we wonder if we would do QS next time. While we loved the table service, with kids, some are just a once do or maybe once do every few years. Why spoil the special moments by repeating them every visit. It was our 10th wedding anniversary and by DHs birthday and our first time to stay on site. DH stated there was nothing about the trip that we would change. We made the DD's both 10 which allowed us to order them anything on the menu. While we did pay more to do that and it did ultimately cost us more in tips, it was well worth it. They loved the crab legs and other adult entrees. We usually shared one between the two of them which worked out perfectly. Thank you to all of you on DISBOARDS for the reviews you do. It helped us to plan a perfect vacation.
