As you can see we are from Angola, NY. That happens to be about 17 miles south of Buffalo. On the ground currently we happen to have just 5 inches....yes that's inches, not feet...of snow. My parents live in Hamburg, about 7 miles closer to the city, and they received about 30 inches over the last 8 hrs. Buffalo is in the process of getting hit with another 12-18 inches today. Just to let you folks know, it's no big deal. It will take a half a day to dig out and get most of the major streets clear. Unfortunately, when we get a storm like this, by the time the last street is plowed the first needs to be redone.

My DW, Jackie is on her way into work at ECMC, Erie County Medical Center. This past year all hospital staff were made essential, except for middle management. Translation: get your butt to work unless, your the boss. I expect her to get there by 10 if she is lucky...3 1/2 hr drive.

Yes, my wife does deserve to drive in this stuff. She has been begging for snow all winter long.

I hope santa was good to everyone

I saw pics of Buffalo!!
I would never leave my house!!:D
We woke up to about an inch this morning, and it is freezing!
Think I'll stay in my jammies and DIS & do Rewards today!:D

Jackie is already at work. Took her only 1 1/2 hrs. Still slow going but not horrendous.

And here we are just outside of the Toronto area (about a 1 1/2 hr drive to Buffulo) and we have a sprinkling of snow and no snow coming to speak of in the forecast. But man is it cold out.................

ENJOY

Karen

I'm glad to hear that Jackie got to work safe and sound.

So she was begging for snow, huh? What's the saying-Be careful what you wish for...

Happy New Year,
Debbie

Jackies really paying for her wishes now. She left work about 1 1/2 hrs ago and I have yet to hear from her. She had to take a round about way home due to all the road closings. We are getting our share of the snow now, probably a foot over the last 3 hrs. Mmmmm don'tcha just love hot cocoa?

update:
DW arrives after a mere 2 1/4 hr drive. I personally would have given up and headed to the nearest bar ...er uh restaurant.

Wow, am I glad I don't live in Buffalo! So far we haven't gotten much of anything here this year, & I sure hope it stays that way. We are trying to figure out how we are going to get through the next 5 winters so DH can retire & we can move to sunny :sunny: warm :D Orlando :bounce:

In the meantime, Dave & Jackie, I'll have a cup of that hot cocoa with you. :D

Hello & Merry Christmas to everyone!

Dave-

Glad to hear you & Jackie are doing ok considering what is happening with all the snow. My family is a little out of the snow belt (they live in Alden near Darien Lake), but DH's family is spread out all over with some in the southtowns and some in Amherst, etc... Bet your kids are having a ball on school break though!

Keep warm and have a nice warm hot chocolate for me--just add a little something to it (like Bailey's, etc..) LOL!

Take care-
