My family just returned from a wonderful Disney visit. I married a great girl and her pre-planning made it a marvelous and relaxing trip too! We traveled with our 2yrs. 8 mths. daughter and it was her second visit to WDW. We live in Atlanta so the trip is only 6.5 hours with stops by car.
We stayed at the All Star Music Resort in a Family Suite. We were more than thrilled with this new rooming option. The SUITE was number 2636, if my review appeals to your family needs. The suite was beautiful, clean and like in prior reviews our only issue was that the air conditioning seemed to struggle at times to keep the rooms cool. It was NEVER a major issue, but we expected it to be a little cooler. The suite did not face the pool side at Jazz II, so we had no noise issues at all. We used the double bed in the private bed room. It is definitely not a queen, but was very nice. The kitchenette was larger than we expected. Our daughter slept on the pull out and she loved it.
We checked in on Monday and arrived at the resort (from a 2 day stay visiting family in Tampa) at 11:15am. The front desk clerk gave us access to our suite immediately! We put our stuff in the suite and went to lunch at the Planet Hollywood with our vouchers that came with the trip. There was no wait at 11:50am on Monday.
Our daughter is a napper still, so we had her back in the room each day by 12:45 for a nap. We were at the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday and Thursday and Animal Kingdom on Wednesday. Each of those days we took advantage of the extra EARLY hour and entered the gates immediately at 8am.
Our table service meals were on Tuesday at the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's dinner buffet at 5:30pm, Wednesday at Olivia's Cafe at Old Key West at 6pm and Thursday at the Concourse Steak House at the Contemporary at 6pm. All of those meals were nothing less than an A- on the Disney Dining plan!
We saved our final table service for Goofy's Breakfast at the Cape May at the Beach Club for Friday, our departure day. It was a wonderful way to cap off the trip. Goofy's Breakfast, we believe, is an absolute must if you have small children that want to interact with the characters. Plus, it is the best breakfast that I have EVER had.
Hope this helps some others and you enjoy your future visits.
We will be back for ESPN The Weekend in March and then another visit next summer!
Safe travels and great memories to all of your families!
