A Pen to Make a Smile

I have a patient at work that loves ink pens- he collects them and every time he sees a new pen he is begging for it- it has gotten so bad that I use cheap bic type pens in front of him so he doesn't take it...

Today one of our doctors brought in a few pens to share with the staff- that he got from drug reps- and so I grabbed one for him- this guy about fell over for this simple ink pen- it was so funny to watch and made everyone smile with his reaction to such a simple gift...

So me and a coworker were talking and saying wouldn't it be neat if we could get pens from all across the country for him- and then I joked withher saying,"well I could post about it on a few of the internet sites I'm on and see what others think..."

So here I am posting what others think- and see if anyone out there has pens with their businesses or local area attractions etc- on them and would want to send some to this guy- who really made our day by how happy he was to get it... you can send it to

I have some pens in my office that I will try to get in the mail tomorrow.

Is it ok to ask, how long your patient will be in the hospital?
