A Pal Mickey question

When you rent the Pal Mickey for a day, do you get a brand new one, or do you get a used one? I was thinking about renting with the strong possibility of buying, but I wouldn't want to keep it unless I knew I was getting a brand new one.

I haven't rented one yet, but I read somewhere that it's a gently used one. They keep and eye on them to make certain that they are not dirty or broken.
