Sometimes. I've booked checking in the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and staying through the week after, and done it at an AP rate. It just depends on their occupancy and what discounts they want to offer.

Can you book an AP rate if you only have a voucher? DH and I are talking about going to F&W in Nov 2010. We are also taking the kids to WDW for that Christmas as well. So we will get APs for DH and I. I thought I read you could but then someone said no.

I booked Pop 11/17 to 12/01 AP Rate.

You can book AP rate without having a valid AP .
I book mine and my AP is expired. But I will buy a new one the day I check-in, so this is acceptable for them.

Have you tried using your voucher to log into the passholder section of the website? Or do you have the voucher yet?

You can book AP rates by phone without having the AP yet. Whenever I've booked an AP rate by phone, I have had to show the AP at check in. You can bring the activated AP back and show it at any point during your stay if you only have the voucher at check in, but they tell you your rates may be adjusted if you don't show it. I've only checked in with a voucher once - the rest of the time I had an activated AP.

Any time I've booked through the passholder section of the website, I have not been asked for my AP at check in. I'm guessing that's because you have to have either an AP or an AP voucher to get into that section of the site.

I haven't even gotten the voucher yet. We just started talking about going Nov 2010 and I trying to decide which is better $$ wise. We know we are getting APs since we are going again in Dec with the kids but as far as lodging goes. We are DVC members but don't have enough points for our planned Dec 2010 trip and Nov so do we book with AP rate or see about rent/transfer of points. So I was curious to see if we only had AP vouchers if we were eligible for AP rate.
