Ok everyone, take a breathe. There's a lot going on right now and everyone is stressed trying to figure out the status of their cruise and re arranging trips as well as figuring out the impact of various restrictions on their day to day life. This is somewhere to come to have a chill out space, to clear your head to help everyone try to deal with this ever evolving situation.

  1. So instead of FOMO - Fear Of Missing Out, tell us about your RAMO, Relief At Missing Out. RAMO is something you were supposed to do, supposed to go to but you really didn't want to and now that events and things are being cancelled you can go phew, thank goodness, the relief, I'm so glad I don't have to now. My RAMO is that I'm now working from home , I don't have to spend 90 minutes commuting each way and I don't have to set my alarm for 6am and I have so much more time in the day to get things done.
  2. Tell us something you are looking forward to in March. Disney+ launches in my country on March 24, I'm so excited and can't wait , 10 days to go
  3. Tell us something about Disney Cruising that you personally love but the rest of your family / travelling party give you the side eye about and think you are crazy for liking.

I have 2 RAMO's. As much as I love my grandchildren, I don't have to sit at a 3+ hour long talent show where everyone in grades 1-6 can, and does perform an "act" of their choosing. I have happily attended this the past 5 years, but happy to have a year off! My husband and I are retired health care workers, and everyday we say "Thank God we're not working"!

1. Karate class was given remotely via Youtube this morning. They don't know that my little guy wasn't wearing his uniform.
And because it's a new system, we snuck into the next remote class, too!

2. Since everyone's freaking out, I walked into an appointment to get my nails done without having to call ahead. My nail person owns the salon with her hair stylist husband, and they're incredibly stressed out by the cancellations and the rent being due... I'll be getting my hair done soon, too. They're great hardworking Koreans getting the sharp end of the stick lately. My nails look great.

3. The weather is nice enough that my family is out fishing while I get to relax in a quiet house playing on the Disboards without hearing "Mom!" every 30 seconds.

We were supposed to go to Vegas for a conference this weekend. We chose to cancel - then they decided to live stream the conference! So instead of the hassle of traveling during this time, I am in my living room, in my pjs, drinking coffee and petting my dog while listening to lectures. ... wonderful way to do a conference! And my girls are playing and drawing Frozen 2 characters here with me!

May everyone have a rich weekend! With good coffee ! 😊

Since I'm working from home indefinitely I'm looking forward to being able to cook dinner during my lunch hour when I'm awake instead of dreading cooking it when I get home from work exhausted (even able to use my crock pot!). I think we'll even eat better! Since we're all going to be "stuck in" we're planning to take a nightly walk as a family.

I'm getting a lot of money back from probably 2 cancelled trips so now maybe I really will go to Greece next summer or plan that trip to Peru that I've always wanted to do. Hopefully, travelling will still be an option in the future!

Love this thread! I have been loathing reading the DIS boards lately.

Its interesting with everything being cancelled (school concerts, little league, my work trips, night job) that the calendar is really empty for such a busy time of year for us! And the things we usually do as a family (eat out, go to church, walk the mall) we can't do.

So we are filling in with things others above said (taking walks, did 1.5 miles today), jigsaw puzzles (we got 1 dozen laying around), making cruise magnets for our cruise in November, board games (we only play them on the cruise) and binge watching series that we never get around to watching!

Hope all are safe and well and thank you for this post!

Joe

My RAMO is also my commute. 2.5 hrs each way. Though I only go in 2 or 3 times a week now it’s none. Kids are home too.

i have accomplished some “projects”.
1. painted a wardrobe for my mom- done
2. Install new toilet seat for mom-done
To do :
1. Paint mom’s bathroom
2 paint mom’s chest
3 paint dining room ( I was going to do this while my husband was on a ski trip to surprise him but his ski trip is now canceled so I guess the poor guy has to help now)
4 finish kids room
5 take hour walk with my mom almost daily
6 finish picture wall
7 get on DH’s case to clean garage.

there are tons of things to do. As our offices are closed and we are on reduced hours. I got time.

RAMO: I'm a teacher and school is cancelled for the next two weeks. What was going to be a very stressful week of school preparing kids for standardized testing is now a week at home with my own children. It is also likely that the standardized testing (4/1 and 4/2) will get pushed back or even cancelled altogether, which is just fine by me!

Training for the Disney runs goes so much easier without any traffic on the roads :) No bicycles and all of people going to sports events and other weekend outings.
I have no excuse to procrastinate on my studies! Okay, my thesis might be a problem now as I cannot do research, but my other classes will be taken care of!
And I don't have to pretend I care about my work ;-) Nobody can see me roll my eyes when I work from home.

Love the thread. Not *quite* an answer to your question but in the same spirit...

I’m excited for the opportunity to try a Halloween or Christmastime sailing for the first time. My April sailing is postponed but trying to look on the bright side for when I rebook. Also may finally try the Panama Canal if I can save a little more with the extra time!

My RAMO involves postponing a situation at work that I didn't want to deal with (can't go into specifics but suffice to say I'm relieved). Also, my son has to have surgery this week and he would have missed over a week of school. So now he will be missing it at home with everyone else anyway! Also we will probably get a LOT of home improvement done.

I saw this funny video earlier which made me laugh. We are all disappointed about cruising but I like this couple's attitude. :)
