A NO RIDE TRIP????

We have a “Sister’s Trip” coming up soon and are doing the same thing OP!

Here are some of the things on our list that you may want to do:

•Sangria University at CSR
•La Cava Tequila experience at Epcot
•Dinners at resorts then roaming around to explore those resorts (my sister has never seen any of them! She’s always stayed offsite before and eaten just in the parks.) Resorts to explore are CSR, AKL, S/D, CR, Poly, GF, Riviera, maybe YC/BC and BW
•Monorail crawl to have drinks and share food at lounges, ending with watching the Electric Water Pageant
•AbracadaBar on Boardwalk

We love watching the glass blower and glass artists in the shop on Main St. in MK. I also think the Pirate game is fun

We love to resort hop and eat at some of our favorite pubs. We take the Skyliner to Riviera and check out Bar Riva. A bus to Coronado to Dahlia or Three Bridges. A boat to Wilderness Lodge for Geyser point. The monorail to Enchanted Rose. So relaxing and fun. (Not all in one day, of course!)

Lot's to do if you aren't going on rides you can
meet characters
shows
3D & 4D cinema's for emample Puxar film festival and you could meet Mickey Mouse before the show
parades
see the animals at Animal Kingdom
Tours
aquarium located at the Nemo ride watch Winnie the Pooh walk around the garden with a bee net catcher
Watch Disney characters sail on a cruise in Animal Kingdom
There's lot's to enjoy if you aren't going on rides.

Fireworks! Get there early with a drink or a snack, or get reservations that overlap the show.

There's no park that's better suited for taking it all in without any rides than Animal Kingdom. Just walking around and immersing yourself in the natural beauty and the way they recreated the streets of Africa and the jungles of Asia and the street performers and the best free show there Winged Encounters! I love Animal Kingdom just as a walk around park.

We had a similar desire, and this past week we essentially did a no parks trip! So if you’re looking for some days where you don’t even go into the parks, a few things we did were:
Visit the Tri Circle D ranch at Ft. Wilderness
Visit Animal Kingdom Lodge - we spent two afternoons here. The kids did the “string of memories” activities, did crafts in the kids club, watched animals on the Savannah.
We did a scavenger hunt around our resort, many hotels have something like this.
Other hotel activities: s’mores, movies on the lawn, evening pool parties.
Ride the monorail and visit the different hotels.
Hi sorry to hijack - we’re doing a no parks trip at the end of the month, staying at POR with our 6 year old. If you have any more recommendations for resorts based activities would love to hear them!

There's family arcades in most Disney resorts including Disney's Port Orleans Resort
Campfire on de' Bayou if you all like marshmallows
Swimming pools
Play areas for children

Thanks! Those are definitely on my list. Hoping to do some resort hopping as well to check out any other hidden gems!

Depending on when you go in October, you'll have a new world to explore in EPCOT with the Journey of Water walking trail

But when we went a few years ago, the first three days of our trip was resort hopping and enjoying the food and other resorts.

If you aren't doing any of the parks I also recommend in getting a taxi, Uber or Lyft to the Crayola Experience which is located at Florida Mall that's great fun too you can create your own crayon watch the crayon factory show and there's lot's of fun games there too.

Our first trip without kids, we walked around Epcot World Showcase and explored each country. We walked around the different parks and enjoyed the details of the different areas. I admit we did occasionally hop on a ride with a shorter line. Once we enjoyed as many lounges as we could each night (it wasn't many, which is why it took multiple nights). We sat at Baseline for an hour people watching. Walked thru stores the kids had no interest - not that we bought anything but it satisfied our curiosity. We went to Disney Springs and completely avoided the main shopping area (enter, walk to the Rainforest Cafe, turn left to walk over the bridge and go right) - couldn't believe the crowd difference.
