Guess it depends on your plan/run frequency/ goals, etc. Ex: I only want to run 4 days max/week. But if I like the structure/content of a plan that has, e.g. 5 days, I will take one of the easy days and drop it/do cross training. So yes, I would count your hiking as cross training and call it the equivalent of an easy day. But I would do that because I’m in the “no race goals” stage of my running and so it works for me.
In the past, if “life” occurred, I would generally look at trying to reschedule, or if it wasn’t a recurring theme, just drop that easy run and not worry too much about it.
I have races and goals. I ended up doing my long run from last weekend on Tuesday and my long run from this weekend today. I need to figure out next weekend since we're taking DS on college visits
I'm behind on my training for CIM but back on wagon a bit this week. still wish I hadn't wasted much of September but life is what life is. DS saw two rattlers on the trail yesterday at 3. That's why I run in the morning.it's been a bit quiet on the training log, and quiet on the running, unfortunately. I did a run today but I effectively lost two weeks after the Halloween half on my progress towards CIM. goal for this week is to get the base runs in and the full long run.
lots of reasons but trying to keep life balanced and get back on the horse here.
PR'd with some great pacers today.I misread the expo times for today and showed up 2 hours early.... went and got coffee came back and was #50 or so in line for bib pickup. Got a shirt in the merch area, a picture and got out.
