A (no-longer new) training log (comments welcome)

Your watch has your daily goal for 24,700 steps a day?!?!? Mine is only 7,900 and on non running days I rarely come close to that unless I am at WDW or doing yard work lol. Awesome job getting that many steps in for 3 weeks!!!
it's adaptive, it goes up each day you meet it, streak had started at 9k and went up....
 
OK so monday I was say "gosh do I need to go harder than my plan, it seems like I'm adapting to this and it's not giving me the training effort that I was getting 4 weeks ago.

now on thursday, I'm saying, no, the plan is good.... ;) definitely hitting the runs a bit harder but also a longer early week mid distance run. so I'm at 14 miles for the week and my strava relative effort is nearly at what I was for last week already. I also remembered I missed monday last week.
 
fun backpacking trip. I don't think Strava really gives you credit for walks/hikes etc carrying weight.

Did 20 miles and 4400 vf over 3 days with a ~40lb pack and my fitness went down each day. :(

The more complicated a metric is, the less helpful it becomes. Fitness on Strava isn't very meaningful. Think about it this way: the fastest way to get a higher fitness score would be to do a hard workout every day. However, that would also be really bad for your training because you would burn out and/or get injured very quickly. Basically, don't put much stock in that, or any other "training score" kind of thing.

felt like crap for several days after the trip, easy runs mostly and one hills cycle. back on schedule today. may be able to get some good running in sat/sun

its Friday and I feel almost fully recovered but Tuesday was such a meh run... somedays I feel like easy is pushing it some days pushing it is fine, this week easy felt like crap until today, with the exception of the hill cycles where the hills always feel like crap...

OTOH I'm now local legend on at least 3 segments.
 
Hills....why did it have to be hills (with apologies to Indy). Hills are never fun, but hey, local legend status is good!
