Hello, everyone. I need help.

I'm looking for a great place to send a couple for a good relaxing evening. I would like to send them to a nice long dinner with the possibility of shopping, strolling, or having an activity to do afterward, or a dinner accompained by a show. I have heard some of the dinner/shows are nice.

I have thought of maybe the Flying Fish Cafe' or a nice dinner in the castle to watch the fireworks... anyone have idea's or can rate the quality of the food and ombiance of the two idea's I have?

I need to book resevations soon! They leave in November.

Thanks everyone!

Eileen

I'd send them to Downtown Disney for dinner (at Bongos or Fultons or Portobello Yacht Club) and Cirque Du Soleil! What an amazing show! It's the one thing my sister is still talking about three years after I took her to WDW. They could also wander around and enjoy some shopping and then head over to Pleasure Island if they wanted!

I'll second that! We dined at Portobello Yacht Club last time we were down and it was wonderful - if they're not up for Cirque, there's always shopping at DTD or maybe catch a comedy show at Pleasure Island :)

Definately Portabello Yacht Club but instead of Cirque I'd recommend Pleasure island - comedy club and adventurers club. My husband and I dined at PYC and then did Cirque we felt rushed because we had to make it to the show on time. In hindsight I wish we would have been able to linger over the amazing dinner without plans after.

You did say a relaxing evening?

I kind of like the Flying Fish idea over DTD-in particular, if they're going out on a weekend night. DTD-even in the offseason-gets a little too crowded/rowdy for me.

Boardwalk-while not tame-seems to have a more-I don't know-laid back atmosphere. Then they can stroll over and maybe catch Illuminations-or work off dessert at Fantasia Gardens...

Tho Portobello and a show at DD isn't a bad idea, I agree with lilboo-DD is not a place to go to relax. It is noisy, crowded, lots of drunks wandering about (along with plenty of other people who don't seem to know how to act). The only way to make it really work would be to eat an early dinner at Portobello, then Cirque, then leave the area before things "liven up".

Then reserve a table at California Grill. Great food and service, super atmosphere.

They can watch the fireworks from the observation deck, or from their window table, if they can get one.

After dinner, head over to the Boardwalk, or Mizner's at the Grand Floridian for a nightcap.
