So, I got brave today and headed out to do some grocery shopping before the bad weather moves in for the weekend! DH has been doing the grocery shopping since my Transplant, or he will take me, etc. Sometimes I will go and get a small order!

Today, I decided that I am going to go for a small order ($100.00 bucks small) :rotfl: The store started to get busy after I had gotten there, with most people thinking the same thing, get what I want and head home before the weather changes!

I had a nice enjoyable time doing my shopping. I did find myself getting very very tired. This is from all the meds that I have to take, anit-rejection, etc. So I decided to go to checkout lane far away from all the main ones. They lines where not bad at all. I got lucky and got right in line with no wait. I started to put my grocery's on the belt. Let me tell you I was having a heck of a time. I was so worn out by that point, and told myself to just take my time. A nice couple came up behind me in line, I said to them, I am sorry, but I am very slow, I don't mean to be, but this is alot of work for me. You may not want to wait. They where so nice and said that's OK hun take your time! I said thank you are you sure? Again no problem, I continued to put my items on the belt as the cashier was checking them out!

The woman said to me, may I ask you a ? I said sure! Do you have the flu or virus maybe. I said no. She then ask me what was making me so tired. I felt comfortable to be honest and told them that I recently had a transplant, and my dh does most of the shopping, etc. I told them it is good for me to come out and do some light shopping from time to time. The man was so pleasant, he ask me a few ? etc. We chatted. He then ask me my name and I told him, as he introduced himself and his wife. He handed me a card, turned out he was a Pastor.

Then I looked up and he was gone, the wife continued to talk to me, as we talked about the bad weather that is coming in tonight, etc. Here the nice man went got out of line, went around through the other register and when I went up to help bag my grocery, there he stood with a smile. He bagged and loaded all of my grocery in the cart! :goodvibes

He was a complete blessing to me today. A real life saver. I told DH about there kindness and how they seemed to know that I needed a little help. I would have gotten it done, but they made my day so much easier! I noticed on the card is an e-mail address. I think I am going to send them a nice Thank You!

I just wanted to share with all of you the kindness amoung all us is still there!

Your story brought a tear to my eye! That was so nice of them to help you out like that. Aren't random acts of kindness wonderful? You have this aura about you today - I read your post about your 17 month anniversary earlier today, and for the second time in one day I've gotten a warm fuzzy feeling, LOL.

Thanks for sharing that with us! It's so wonderful hearing some good news for a change. :goodvibes

It means more than the act of helping with groceries, an act like that it means we aren't alone in our struggles, other people care.

Bravo for getting out and doing your shopping!

NIce to hear something about the good people that live in the world too!! :flower:

So good to hear something nice happened for a change - most of the time people are in such a rush and can be so rude.

How nice to find some good people. Can I ask what church the man was a pastor at? I was just wondering if I might know him.

I had know idea the weather was suppossed to get so bad until I read your post and went online to see the weather. I guess I should batten down the hatches. It's a good thing we had the new gutters put on last week.

Like Lady M's quote in my signature, RAOK's live forever. :goodvibes Very nice story you shared, Kitty. :goodvibes

Thank you for sharing that story. I always feel that there are more nice people out there than mean people. You met some of the nice ones today.

Great story, thanks for sharing. And you know what, you probably made their day today too! MsDisney, I tried pm'ing you but it said your box is full :-(

It is so nice that these people went out of their way to help you, just when you least expected it. Thanks for sharing!

What a nice man - it's always nice to know that there are still nice people in the world. I would definitly write to him too. ::yes::

I have not had a transplant, but I've had some pretty major health problems over the past few years. I understand totally what utter fatigue is. It is so much more than being just being very tired.

I've driven to the the grocery store, parked the car, and and then decided that I literally did not have the energy to walk inside. So I had to drive back home.

Just the other night here in New Orleans I had some bottled water in my cart (needed here). I was struggling to get it out. I could have done it, but this very nice man just jumped in and said let me get that for you. I was doing the self service check out so he had to put it over the scanner for me. I REALLY appreciated it.

We have terrible lines here in New Orleans right now. Most of the stores close at 6 pm. Even Wal*Mart is only open until 7. I didn't get in the city until 5:15 so I had to get groceries that night.

I have found people here in New Orleans who are going through so much right now to be so caring and giving. It really warms your heart.

It's always nice when someone goes out of their way to help a fellow human. I'm glad you were the recipent of someone's caring attitude. Some days, it only takes a smile to make everything feel right.
