So, I got brave today and headed out to do some grocery shopping before the bad weather moves in for the weekend! DH has been doing the grocery shopping since my Transplant, or he will take me, etc. Sometimes I will go and get a small order!
Today, I decided that I am going to go for a small order ($100.00 bucks small)
The store started to get busy after I had gotten there, with most people thinking the same thing, get what I want and head home before the weather changes!
I had a nice enjoyable time doing my shopping. I did find myself getting very very tired. This is from all the meds that I have to take, anit-rejection, etc. So I decided to go to checkout lane far away from all the main ones. They lines where not bad at all. I got lucky and got right in line with no wait. I started to put my grocery's on the belt. Let me tell you I was having a heck of a time. I was so worn out by that point, and told myself to just take my time. A nice couple came up behind me in line, I said to them, I am sorry, but I am very slow, I don't mean to be, but this is alot of work for me. You may not want to wait. They where so nice and said that's OK hun take your time! I said thank you are you sure? Again no problem, I continued to put my items on the belt as the cashier was checking them out!
The woman said to me, may I ask you a ? I said sure! Do you have the flu or virus maybe. I said no. She then ask me what was making me so tired. I felt comfortable to be honest and told them that I recently had a transplant, and my dh does most of the shopping, etc. I told them it is good for me to come out and do some light shopping from time to time. The man was so pleasant, he ask me a few ? etc. We chatted. He then ask me my name and I told him, as he introduced himself and his wife. He handed me a card, turned out he was a Pastor.
Then I looked up and he was gone, the wife continued to talk to me, as we talked about the bad weather that is coming in tonight, etc. Here the nice man went got out of line, went around through the other register and when I went up to help bag my grocery, there he stood with a smile. He bagged and loaded all of my grocery in the cart!
He was a complete blessing to me today. A real life saver. I told DH about there kindness and how they seemed to know that I needed a little help. I would have gotten it done, but they made my day so much easier! I noticed on the card is an e-mail address. I think I am going to send them a nice Thank You!
I just wanted to share with all of you the kindness amoung all us is still there!
