A Newlywed's Very Merry PTR! December 2013 Complete!

Hey girl! I am finally all caught up on this and the end of your TR.

The Poly really is such a beautiful place. We really enjoyed staying there on our honeymoon.

Narcoossee's is such a nice place to eat! The lobster was yummy! And I loved your dress!

I am loving all your updates of your cute dogs. We have a chocolate lab puppy; she's only about 7 months old!

How exciting it is to be planning another trip! We are going in May, which will be our last trip to WDW before the baby is born! :)

Possible Restaurants:

-Be Our Guest- I am so excited to finally eat here!

-Hollywood Brown Derby- DH and I have always enjoyed our meals there.

-Boma- We haven't been back for awhile. It is neat to explore AKL while there. If the food is something that interests you, I say go for it. I have also heard great things about Sanaa!

-Crystal Palace- I know you enjoy eating there, so it's just a decision of whether or not you want to use the credit at some place you haven't been before.

-Kona- This is one of my favorite places to eat. Breakfast is great with the tonga toast and pressed coffee pot. Dinner is great because you can order off their menu and the sushi bar's menu as well!

-Le Cellier- This is one of my DH's favorite places to eat at WDW!

-Ohana- Another great place for both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is with Lilo and Stitch. Dinner has amazing food, and if you time your ADR right- they play the Wishes music so you can watch from your table!

-Tusker House- Great place for breakfast. The juice is so good! Plus, we were right by the KS, so we could get FP's before the crowds made it back to that area.

-Citrico's- I really want to eat here!

-Artist Point- This is another place I want to eat. I love WL!

-B&C- Haven't been, but heard good things!

Ah, thanks! They're my little fur-babies! I can't help but share pictures of them! I can't imagine how bad I'll be once I have kiddos! :lmao: Laila turned one years old February 6th and Ellie will turn one years old May 20th. My little girls are just growing up! Next thing you know, they'll be saving China (Mulan reference, lol)!

Thanks for the tips about food places! For some reason this year I feel like we have no food credits, even though we still do! Lol. Is that sad or what? There are so many amazing places I want to eat but I think we only have 4 days of credits (long story). I'm almost ready to reserve an extra day just so I can eat at more places!! LOL! If we end up having discounts at some point I might just do that!

I'm trying to get caught up on your TR. My sister just had her baby yesterday and she was two weeks late! I'm supposed to be meeting him today on my lunch break! Yay! There's pictures on my TR if you're interested! I hope to get an update done on my PTR this weekend since we're supposed to get another foot of snow... Blegh. That's our third snow event since the first day of spring a few days ago, lol. So excited about your little one! Do you know if it's a boy or girl yet? :goodvibes

I saw the picture of the baby! How exciting!

We will find out what the baby is in May!

Ah, so exciting!! May is right around the corner! So excited to read your hopeful TR from your May trip. Whenever we get pregnant, I'm fully expecting to go on a babymoon to Disney. At least the beach with a day or two at Disney! :goodvibes

Hey everyone!

It’s been awhile since I’ve written on here but things have been so busy at home. I hope everyone had a happy Easter! This is what I came into the Saturday before Easter on my work email from one of my coworkers… I just found out she’s somewhat Disney obsessed as well so needless to say we’ve bonded quite well!

My sister finally had her baby on March 21st! She was two weeks late and was in labor for 31 hours (though the birth center claims it was closer to 40). She and T named their baby Pippin Augustus Tiberius. What a name, right? But, it totally fits his parents and it’s cute that they cared enough about what they wanted his name to
be that they just gave him two middle names. He’s been affectionately known as Pipsqueak by much of his family and he is already loved by so many! He’s two and a half weeks old today and he’s been lifting his head since day 1! He’s a strong little guy, just like his momma and daddy!

Here’s my dad debuting his new name, G-pa!

And of course, my beautiful mother who is going to be one of the most amazing grandma’s in the world!

Here’s me with my brand new nephew!!

Do I look like a natural? Lol. Let’s just say that a lot of baby comments have started popping up since this picture surfaced. That same day we were at his grandparents’ house celebrating three birthdays and Devan and I were playing with Mila (his 1 year old neice) and you should have seen the adoring smiles and the comments. Sheesh… As if Devan’s family weren’t baby crazy for us already… Lol!

We did receive some exciting mail this week!

We’ve even had a personalized video from them. I love how they’re personalizing everything! It just gets me that much more excited!

Anyway, Devan and I did come up with some dining ideas. Not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but our trip is broken into two reservations. One is eligible for the DDP and the other is not. I won’t get into details but I’m still hoping there might be a way to get the DDP for the last couple of days. Really, the only days we won’t have the DDP are our last full day and the day we leave. So, we shouldn’t notice it too much. I guess we can pay for a couple of meals out of pocket instead of beforehand… Lol

Here is a breakdown of some ideas I’ve been running through my head.

Woohoo! I can’t believe how fast time is flying! Our Colorado trip is coming up fast! 102 days!! All I need to do is book a rental car and our ghost hunt! :) I’ll tell you more about that after I book it! I should probably get on that. I’ve heard they fill up pretty fast.

Our Disney trip is now 238 days away! But, the booking of our ADRs and such is 58 days away! How can that be? Wow, I didn’t realize we were that close! I may have to reserve some Disney Planning Time with the hubby this weekend! Lol. I bet he’ll be ecstatic! ;) In between planning for Colorado and Disney, one of my best friend’s wedding is taking place. I’m a bridesmaid so I know we’ll be busy with that! Her wedding is June 15th so it’s coming down to all the last minute stuff! At least that will help time go by faster!

One thing I am super excited about is my vacation time from work when we go to Disney. Every year I’ve worked for the banking industry I’ve had to work Black Friday open to close so my coworkers could take off. This year, I don’t have to! I will have off from November 28th (Thanksgiving and my sister’s birthday) through December 8th, only to return to work December 9th. It’ll be nice to have some extra family time around Thanksgiving since we all have multiple Thankgivings! Who knows… Maybe I’ll partake in some Black Friday shopping. Lol! Does the Disney Store partake in that? I think we have one on the Plaza here. I’ll have to check it out! Haha!

I’m going to have to go delete some pictures off of photobucket. Apparently, I’m almost at my limit
of space… Woops! But for now, here are some pictures from the “homestead” as my old coworkers affectionately call it! :)

Sometimes Ellie’s ears flip back like these and she reminds me of Jar Jar Binks. LOL! What do you think?

We had another big winter storm, hopefully our last considering we had two winter storms after the first day of spring! It was at least beautiful! This picture was taken on our way home from Chipotle. I just had to have me some Chipotle. If any of you have ever heard of Chipotle, you know what I’m talking about!

Due to the snow and the melting of snow, not to mention the waking of the sprinkler due to the gorgeous weather we’ve been having, Ellie has had a bit of fun playing in the mud…

Sure makes a momma proud when her pride and joy shows up looking like this.

Here are a few of the hubby and me from Easter (first pic), date night (second pic), and our family outing seeing Jurassic Park in 3D today (third pic)! Ironically, DH is wearing the same outfit in pictures 2 and 3… Huh.

Hope everyone’s week goes well! Life may take an UNEXPECTED twist this week and if that happens I’ll be sure to update you all! Have a magical week!

Subbing in... We are also planning a Christmas trip (for the actual day of Christmas - terrified!)

I also work in banking and have a soft spot of rescue animals, though after a rough few years, we are down to just one dog (mini wiener dog named Martini) and one former-feral cat who thinks he's a dog (Guinness.) :( It's killing me - I want to go get a puppy ASAP (from a rescue of course) but my husband is less enthusiastic about the idea. I think he's still hurting from the loss of our bestest beagles (Abby died of cancer in 2008 and Bailey had a heart attack last year.) It's also harder now that we have young kids; we can't just get any dog because we have to make sure they are kid-tested. Our 3rd beagle baby Jack is on permanent vacation with my parents because he bit both the kids (multiple times, through no fault of the dog or the kids.) He's 17 years old, blind, and deaf - just not a good combo with loud, quick-moving and wobbly kids.

Looking forward to reading more on your plans!

I could have sworn I replied to this... So sorry!! It sounds like we have a lot in common. We've had a couple of rough years with a dog and cat passing away. We also have two dogs on permanent vacation with my parents. When we moved, they did not do well, which is how we ended up with Laila and Ellie from the local pound. I'm about to head over to your PTR!

Subbing!

I don't know if you have chosen your tour yet but I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour a few years back and even in fifty degree weather where I had to purchase a sweatshirt because I was so cold it was well worth it. Some say it ruins the magic but the way the tour is done just made me more aware of how dedicated Disney is. I highly recommend the tour!

Joining in too. I just loved your last trip review, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Love the pics of your animals!! I think you picked a great choice in choosing Poly. That's going to be our resort for 2014. For our upcoming trip we are doing a split between POFQ and CR. I hope we have good luck there at Contemporary;).

Well, hello there DISers!

We are ONLY 7 and a half months out!!! WOOT WOOT!!! :D

I ended my last update with a cliff hanger and I'm sorry about that. I know all of you were probably screaming at your computer screens at me for doing so. ;) Haha! I do have an announcement to make. I have been offered a new job! I know, I know... I just took a new job three months ago but I didn't go looking for this job, it fell in my lap. One of my bridesmaids has been dating the son of the owner of a Flooring company in this area for quite some time. The company was looking for someone and my friend recommended me! The job got me out of retail sales (banking) as well as working Saturdays (which I will not miss working) and was offering more money. I decided it wouldnt hurt to inquire about it even though I absolutely loved the job I am currently in. Well, everything went well and I even met with the CFO in my second interview. I'll be working in the accounting department and I'm so excited! It's a great thing for DH and me! I'm very lucky to have such understanding and supportive coworkers. It was harder for me to put my two weeks in here than it was my previous employer, and I had worked there three years!

Now, here's the not-so-good news... This weekend my hubby and I were at a lawn and garden place on Saturday purchasing new plants and a tree for our backyard. We do our own landscaping and are very proud of it! They have these heavy-duty carts for transporting any plants and shrubs that you want to buy so you actually have hands to do things. The cart we had had two layers. So, for example, think of a shopping cart with two carts on top of each other. Well, I lifted the top cart up so I could put our new spireas on the bottom level and the top cart fell and hit me in the temple area. :faint: Now, I have a concussion and am having quite a time with it. I've been nauseous since about a half an hour after I did it Saturday. I'm not sure if my writing is making as much sense as it should since Im having a difficult time putting sentences together. Sorry about that! Im at work right now, but all of my coworkers are telling me I should go to the doctor and such. Im just in such a daze and my head is killing me. It feels like everything is moving very fast when I'm moving very slow. It's quite frustrating. Not to mention I can't seem to think of the words I want to say which my manager finds quite funny. So, yay for my bad news!

Anyway, I thought I'd put in a quick update since I can't do much else right now. I'll keep you all updated! Have a great Monday!

Keys to the Kingdom is actually the tour we are going to do! I am so excited! I'm glad to have a first hand review of it! I've heard amazing things about it and I agree, I feel like it would add to the magic, not diminish it! :cool1:

Joining in too. I just loved your last trip review, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Aw, thanks! I'm excited to do a second TR! Whoa, my curser is moving very fast which is not working well with my concussed head! :sad2: ANYWAY... I'm glad you enjoyed my TR! I had a blast recounting my trip!

Love the pics of your animals!! I think you picked a great choice in choosing Poly. That's going to be our resort for 2014. For our upcoming trip we are doing a split between POFQ and CR. I hope we have good luck there at Contemporary;).

I am so excited to be staying at the Poly! I hope your stay at the CR is amazing. I'm sure 99.9% of the time it is. I think we were just the unlucky group that trip and I secretly think it was a test on our new marriage to see how we would handle a situation like this. Luckily, I think we passed! :goodvibes When we toured the Poly on our honeymoon we fell in love and knew we had to stay here. Plus, with all the refurbs, I'm kind of excited to see the new rooms, assuming they'll be done by December. Plus, Wishes is one of my favorite aspects of WDW. I cannot wait to watch it from the beach at the Poly! :cloud9:

Congratulations on the new job!! How exciting. I'm sorry about your concussion though - they are no fun at all. My little brother just got one a little over a week ago playing hockey. He went to the hospital, and the doctor said to take advil and tylenol for it, and no sports for a couple of weeks. That is about all he can do for it though. Since you are having trouble with your words I would probably see someone about it, just to be safe!

Thanks! I'm excited, but also sad to leave my current job. I absolutely love it here and it will be hard to leave. My manager just told me if I don't like it after a month that he'd hire me back gladly, lol.

Yeah, I've had a couple of concussions before but never in the temple. They were in the back of the head. The temple is a bad place to hurt anyway so a concussion from hitting that area is not good, lol. I have actually made it through my whole workday, some how. I've decided that if I'm not feeling any better by tomorrow that I'll go to the doctor. I'm hoping that with more rest this evening it'll help. I was not very restful this weekend and I think that played a part. To be honest, the part that scares me the most is how hard it is for me to wake up, even after a nap. I don't awake feeling refreshed, it's almost like a fight for consciousness and that scares me. I'm hoping waking up tomorrow will be better and if it is I'm hoping tomorrow will go better. I'm babysitting my nephew tomorrow so I want to make sure I'm feeling up to it! :)

I hope your brother is feeling better! No sports for a couple of weeks is rough. I remember when I got my concussion playing soccer in high school they weren't as strict on coming back from concussions. I started playing sports a couple of days later. Though, that could have been because I was extremely stubborn... Woops!

I have been reading your honeymom TR and just realized we will be there at the same time in December! We are there Dec 1-7 staying at VWL and SSR.

Hope you are feeling better! Take this time to get pampered by your DH! :)

No way! You're the second person who I've found out is going the same time as us! :cool1: How very exciting!! I'm hoping to swing one more day there and get there the 1st instead of the 2nd. We'll have to see how this new job goes!

I'm feeling much better, thanks! My DH did try and pamper me some. He was sweet. :)

Today’s post is dedicated to Quick Service Dining! Now, I’ve never planned out Quick Service Dining before so this is a first for me. I won’t be planning exactly where we will be eating, BUT I will be narrowing it down to a few QS restaurants per park/place we visit so we know what we’re getting into. The major reason behind this is I want to 1) make sure that we get the most out of our dining plan. 2) We will most likely be eating at QS restaurants our last few days there so we’ll want to make sure we’re eating at QS restaurants with great quality for the price. I’ve listed quite a few so here we go!

Menus thanks to http://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/dining/menus

http://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/dining/kona-island/menus/dinner
• Wolfgang Puck Express-Marketplace (DTD)
http://touringplans.com/walt-disney...g-puck-express-marketplace/menus/lunch-dinner

I feel like those are pretty good options. I know we’ll be eating at Capt. Cook’s since we’re staying at the Poly. I also HAVE to introduce Devan to Casey’s Corner. I can’t believe he’s never eaten there! We love our Ballpark Foods! Lol. Cosmic Ray’s and Pecos Bills are both easy choices by all of the Mountains so they’re easy picks for the MK anyway. Gaston’s Tavern looks more like a place I might get a snack if I feel like tempting myself with a giant cinnamon roll (remember, DH is allergic to cinnamon). I’ve heard great things about Sunshine Season in Epcot. Surprisingly, I haven’t really eaten here from what I can remember. Maybe once… but I can’t even be sure of that. I also LOVE Mexican Food (DH not so much) so I’m hoping to try out La Cantina de San Angel. I’ve eaten there before and really enjoyed it. It was actually during the Chiefs vs. Green Bay game in 2011 where we ended up beating Green Bay. It was our ONLY joyful moment the entire season. My little sister doesn’t watch football so she was not happy with my mom and me checking the score every 30 seconds. We were of course wearing our Chiefs gear (as were the GB fans). It was fun to take that game into the Disney Parks where football normally isn’t the priority that day! Lol. Anyway, back to QS locations!

HS doesn’t have the best QS locations, so we’ll most likely stick to FairFax Fare or some place along Hollywood Blvd (I think that’s the street name for the main street that leads to ToT and Rockin’ Roller Coaster). Now AK is one place we never venture out in. The one time I did I ended up with the Swine Flu. Totally unrelated I know but the memory still persists. We might have eaten at Yak and Yeti that time. DH wasn’t there for that trip. I’ve heard amazing things about Flametree BBQ. HOWEVER, DH and I are from the Kansas City area and Flametree touts itself as St. Louis-style BBQ. I much prefer Kansas City BBQ to St. Louis so I’ll have to see if I can overcome that. Haha! There’s always a big rivalry between KC and St. Louis, no matter what the topic. Mine stems from years of playing competitive soccer against St. Louis teams. Others might stem from Rams vs. Chiefs or Cardinals vs. Royals. Who knows?! Anyway, I’m sure I can manage if we feel like stepping outside our Rainforest Café comfort zone. Haha!

I think that’s a good amount of planning so far. We have 42 days until I can make ADRs. Boy, that’s fast! I really want to have a good sit-down with my hubby and nail down our dining (Wifey, didn’t we already do that?), but I need to see park hours! Park hours make a huge difference in where I make reservations. I know they have November’s out right now, so I’m hoping by the end of May they’ll have December’s out. I like to make ADRs in the parks that I’ll be at. I don’t like skipping around. It wastes too much time and there’s too big of a chance of arriving late! So, I feel our ADRs will be hanging in the balance until I can get park hours for December.

I did just rent our rental car for our First Anniversary Colorado trip! It’s coming up in 87 days! It’ll be here before we know it! My friend, whom I’m a bridesmaid for, has her bridal shower this weekend, I’m taking DH to the Lake of the Ozarks for our birthdays next weekend, then we have my friend’s Bachelorette Party, and the weekend after that another friend of mine is having a Diaper Shower/BBQ. Then soon after that my friend’s wedding will be here! Absolutely insane! This summer will fly by with all of this going on!

We did celebrate my birthday last Friday with my family since everyone was in town and my family will be out of town on my birthday (they’re leaving for the beach). Here's me with my two beautiful sisters after we played BONANZA!!

I got a $50 DISNEY Visa gift card from my sisters and brother-in-law for all intensive purposes, some money for our trips from my parents, and this:

Isn’t it beautiful?! I love it so much! There’s not much room in there but it works perfectly for a work purse. What I love about it is that it looks professional, yet it’s covered in Disney engravings. Gosh, it’s just wonderful! My hubby is the best! I had an amazing birthday and can’t wait to celebrate it again with friends and at the Lake of the Ozarks! I can't leave you all without two new pictures of Laila and Ellie!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great rest of your week! This is my last week at my current job and it’s going to be strange walking out that door on Friday. See you all soon and have a magical day!

Hey everyone!

What a beautiful day we had here! The weather was in the mid to upper 60s and the DH and I did... wait for it... YARD WORK! We are very proud of our yard and probably do more yard work and landscaping than most people, except landscapers. :lmao: I knew it was going to be bad when I was outside for 10 minutes already showing the signs of a sunburn. Welp, that 10 minutes turned into four hours and this is the result:

It's even on my legs! :( But, the yard looks nice! We've had so much rain in this drought-stricken land that our grass has been growing like crazy! It's needed though. We were in such a sever drought last year that I really shouldn't be complaining about the rain. It's just the back and forth cold air that's getting old. It's supposed to be spring time.

We threw my friend's bridal shower yesterday! It went fantastic! I ended up winning a prize, three candles that all smell delicious! :cool1: She was so happy and I got to see some friends from high school I hadn't seen in a long time! Here's a few pictures of some of the mini-desserts we prepared!

The party went great!

My birthday is on Thursday! I'm so excited! We are actually seeing Iron Man 3 at midnight the night of my birthday! Yes, we all have to work the next morning... Being an adult SUCKS! :rotfl: Then, Devan and I are off to the Lake of the Ozarks Saturday morning! I've looked at the weather forecast though and once again, winter is making an appearance. 40s and rain... For my lake weekend. No bueno. :furious: :scared1: :headache:  Hoping there's some magic warm front that comes back through and pushes it away.

I did have my last day of work at the bank on Friday. My manager bought us Minskey's Pizza (buffalo-chicken pizza... YUM!) and they all got me a card.

Disney-Pixar... How fitting. :) It was a great last day, better than I could have hoped for. I start my new job tomorrow (Monday) and I couldn't be more excited. I hope it goes well!

I don't have ANY Disney updates, sorry about that. I know this is a PTR for Disney, but I really don't have any. I did upload all of our videos from our honeymoon onto our computer today. DH and I watched them all and caught ourselves laughing at how silly we were. We were standing on the balcony of our Contemporary Resort hotel room watching the rain come in as Devan made up random songs about rain. He really is adorable. :lovestruc We watched our segway video which made me laugh but also made me kind of sad that they aren't offering that tour anymore. I guess I'm glad we got it in when we did!

A few last things on the personal side. I try to let you guys get to know me as well as you can! I started a countdown for our Colorado trip!

I know it's not Disney, but I thought I MIGHT do a mini-TR in this PTR about that trip. I mean, we're going to a haunted hotel, it's practically a haunted mansion! Lol. I figure we might have some really cool experiences to share with you all.

Of course, as always, can't leave you without a picture from home!

Here is DH and me seeing "Pain and Gain".

I did NOT like the movie and I do not recommend. I like action flicks, especially mixed with comedy; the remade "21 Jump Street" anyone? But, this was just so bad.

I think this picture is just SO funny.

As you can see... Ellie and Laila are both asleep on our bed while DH is asleep on the floor. Seems a little backwards, don't you think? :rotfl:

Anyway, I'd better get to bed. It's almost 10 P.M. and I have to be up super early in order to workout before I go to work. I hope you all have a magical week filled with pixie dust! pixiedust:

So, I made a purchase this morning... One of GREAT significance! This purchase trumps all other purchases I have made this year (that MIGHT be overdoing it). It will definitely be one of my most GRATIFYING purchases of this year. Do you want to know what it is?

MICKEY'S VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS PARTY TICKETS!!!!!!!!

YES! IT'S TRUE! I am now the owner of TWO tickets to MVMCP!!! :cool1::banana::dance3::woohoo::cheer2::yay::worship::thumbsup2

Seriously, this just makes this trip THAT much more real! I finally have a set in stone date for something! Thursday, December 5th Devan and I will be walking the streets of Magic Kingdom with complimentary hot chocolate, cookies, and the most magical snow you'll ever see! :lovestruc I love Disney at Christmas time and the MVMCP just tops it all off. In honor of my MVMCP tickets purchase, here are some past pictures from MVMCP 2010! I look very different so please don’t judge! Here’s a fun fact… These pictures were taken about a week before Devan proposed to me!

I'm off to celebrate my birthday with some friends! I'll be another year older tomorrow!

Have a magical day!
