A newby Question

We just became members yesterday although we knew we were going to join when we planned the WDW vacation.
Question as to the developer points- How likely are we to have problems booking at Saratoga Springs with our developer points? How close in can we book and get about what we want? My observation is that they are selling the fire out of AKV and hence a lot of developer points are floating around plus all the SS owners.

Well, there can never be more points held by the owners than points available to reserve. Developer points just happen to be owned by the developers, and not a "normal" owner
I am guessing that there may seem to be somewhat lower availability at SSR because it is now an established "sold out" resort, and an established timeshare shoud run at 100% occupancy. In the selling phase, most buyers will wait 6-12 months before they use their points, thus there seems to be a little greater availability between the sale (when the unit is declared into inventory) and when those owners actually use their points. That being said, SSR is large enough that most of the time there is some availability. You also need to remember that slow Disney times are not necessarily slow DVC times (December, low points, slow Disney, is the most popular DVC month, and NYE and Easter may be impossible if you do not get them at 11 months)

well don't count on Thanksgiving to after NY for this year.

think there is still some villa in Sept, Oct - at OKW and SSR - could be wrong.

now if you are talking March, April, May of next year - think you will be okay.

oh for the spring break thing - make the reservation NOW!

Thanks for the info- Actually, our developer points are limited to SS as far as DVC resorts. I have been reading other forums where a lot of members were complaining about not being able to get a reservation anywhere with less than 7 months in advance. I haven't seen that complaint on this forum.
