We are WDW vets going to DL/DCA for our first time in late July. I am trying to plan some FPs for the biggies and RSR is on the top of my list. Is the FP distribution for that only near the ride itself? I think the answer is 'yes' but I am afraid of losing time and getting a later return time by wandering around aimlessly at park opening.

Thanks :)

It is actually located at the entrance to CarsLand.

RSR is located at the opposite end of CarsLand. You have to pass the FP distribution spot to get to CarsLand and RSR if you are entering from the front of the park. I'm going to try and find one of my park maps to give you a better description :)

The DL website says that the FB distribution area for RSR is in Bugsland by It's Tough to Be a Bug. Try to get there somewhat early so you don't get a late return time :)

HTH,

RSR FP is at the Tough to be a Bug FP machines in Bugs Land...which is right next to the Cars Land entrance (near Mater's). Don't worry! There will be lots of signs directing you where to go!! And as of recently, the RSR FP are connected, and so far what I've read, they are lasting longer throughout the day so that is good! We are going in July as well. Have a great time. :goodvibes

It is on the opposite side of A Bugs land's entrance than Carsland. As mentioned, you wont have trouble finding it. Just look for the long line if you are there early.

I'll put it yet another way.

As you go directly past Carthay Circle restaurant and towards BugsLand, CarsLand, and the Paradise Pier areas of the park, the RSR FP distribution will be before you reach BugsLand on the left. It is not hard to find.

That's exactly what I was trying to say but somehow made it as clear as mud! Thanks!

I figure between the six of us or so, we'll have the OP either thoroughly confused or knowing exactly where to go.

Here's a quick map I made marking where the RSR fastpass distribution is compared to where RSR is. Hope it helps!

The map is perfect, but I will tell you if you are there at park opening to think TSM at WDW at park opening. If you are going the way the rest of the big crowd is running, you will wind up either in the RSR or or RSR FP lines. ;) Have a great trip!

Keep in mind that if you want an early return time and get in line at RD, you will wait about 20 minutes to get that FP. If you wait until 40 minutes after RD, you'll walk right up and get a FP with no wait. The system just got connected to the other rides Sunday, so it's a new thing. We're all wondering how that will affect how long they will last. They have been lasting about 3 hours after RD this spring/summer.

If u are going at rope drop go directly to the ride and don't wait for the fastpass. You can snag a FP after you get off for a later encore.

We were at CA last week and had a good experience riding RSR 3 times in a day.

We were there for rope drop during early magic hour and went straight to the ride at the back of the park. We waited 10 minutes and rode. Got off and went right back in for another 20 minute wait and ride again.

As soon as we got off, I went back to Fast Pass line, arriving by 7:45 and got 3 FP for 11:30-12:30. Meantime Wife and son-6 went to HTT. I arrived and got a FP, we hopped in line for 35 minute wait, got off and rode again with the FP. So by 9 am we rode RSS and HTT twice each.
Crowds will likely be a little heavier but we found staying on site at Paradise Pier to get the extra magic hour at California Adventure worth it.
