I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas, but if like me, you're fed up of chocolates and crisps or your New Year's resolution is to fit into a cute swimsuit or some cool shorts, then come and join us as we try to lose a few pounds before our next holiday :beach:

Tell us which dieting plan you are going to use, then let us know each week or weigh-in how you have done

I will be starting my diet next Monday (after my birthday celebrations over the weekend), and thankfully my Zumba classes start back next week too (oh how I have missed them)

Welcome back to those of you who were dieting with us before Christmas, and Welcome to any newbies

pixiedust: Good Luck Everyone !! pixiedust:

I am in need of losing a stone before the summer I will be using my fitness pal again best of luck to everbody my diet will start on jan 6 when we all return to work

I lost a stone leading up to our holiday in December and managed to keep all of it off bar a couple of pounds since then.
Back to WeightWatchers a week tomorrow but I'm already back at the gym, been twice this week and shall be back there tomorrow with a swim on Friday.

Pam

Starting my diet officially from Monday I will be using Slimming World although won't be attending the classes, I just have the books all ready.

I plan to lose at least 2 stones before my Disney trip at the end of September and hoping to lose around 2ibs a week so should hopefully get to my goal within plenty of time.

Will be aiming to do at least 30 minutes exercise a day and plan to start running as well as my Zumba classes.

I also use My Fitness Pal app it's a great free app that is brilliant for counting cals and exercise. :goodvibes

I love My Fitness pal too , I'm on quite a calorie restricted diet of around 1200 a day but it's working for me and I'm not going hungry .

I had a few weeks off of the diet over Xmas and I have put on 3 lb but not a big deal that will come off fairly easily .

I've not dared to stand on the scales since Christmas! I'm worried I will scare myself to death!
I was planning to start tomorrow as I'm back at work, but there are still a few things here that need eating before I can start being good, so looks like Monday for me too. I'll be cutting out the rubbish and using the gym at work on my lunch hour to help shift the lbs.

Good luck everyone!

I've put on a stone since my wedding in April, so i will be heading back to Slimming World on Tuesday - I'm almost too scared to get the scales, but I kow that once that initial weigh-in is done, it will inspire me to be good!

Going to WW tonight!!! SW did not work for me. Wish it had as love the freedom on the diet

Back onto My Fitness Pal for me again, worked wonders last year.

Quite annoyed with myself, as up to June last year I'd lost 1.5 stone...I've put half a stone back on...grrr! So, back into it from Monday when I return to work again.

Mission is to loose about two stone in total, but will break this down into smaller goals to make it more motivating to reach :) Ideally by the time I go to WDW next May (2015), I'd like to be down at 9 stone :)

I had lost 1 1/2 stone up to my holiday in Nov/Dec and haven't been back to the club since then.
I am going back to Slimming World a week on Monday to start again. I don't think I have put it all back on but def have put a lot of it on! Anyway I have loads to lose and find this diet/lifestyle choice or whatever you want to call it suits me really well and I don't feel like I am missing out.
So glad to get all the Christmas indulgences out the way and looking forward to getting back to healthy eating..:)

So count me in...and good luck to everybody else in 2014 with their eating plans:goodvibes

I started last January and have lost just over 4 stone. I weigh in every Thursday at Scottish Slimmers and use their check system as a guide to the amount of calories I can eat each day, currently about 1200. Having dieted for years, this is the most successful I've ever been, and think the key is writing every single thing I eat down and being completely honest with what I've eaten and the amount of calories.

In the end whether it's a check, sin or point (see, I told you I've been to them all ;)) it all comes back to a calorie.

I've got just under a stone to lose to get to my target, but i've been a bit bad over the holidays. Started being good again on Friday and hope that by Thursday I'll be back to what I was before the holidays or at least be within a couple of pounds of it.

I have to say that coming on here each week really helps too - thanks Mandy for starting this and for everyone else that contributes :goodvibes

Good luck everyone :)

Well done that's a brilliant achievement. Good look in reaching your final target.

Also I'd like to echo the thanks to Mandy for setting up the threads. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

So I've lost weight over Christmas I think it was down to not being at work and around the temptations as well as the fact that I had a chest infection that had been bothering me on the run up to exercise and still haven't regained an appetite after this.

Still a long way to go, I saw a photograph that someone tagged me in on facebook today from a works Christmas do and I'm mortified by how big I have gotten since 2008 when me and my bf first went away together. I'm determined to shift two to three stones before our holiday. Thank fully I have until the end of September to do so but hoping to lose around 2ibs a week.

Tonight I will be doing my Nell McAndrew DVD or Zumba on the xbox, may also go out for a jog, really need to get healthier.

I braved the scales this morning and it wasn't as bad as I thought. 4lb gain, but I was expecting half a stone or more, so quite chuffed. Started being good today but my temptation was tested when a colleague bough donuts at lunch time. I'm pleased to say though that I resisted temptation and I'm still on track! The first day of many! Fingers crossed next week will see at least 1 less lb!

pixiedust: Good Luck everyone, let's get these weigh-ins out of the way, then the real work can commence. Fingers crossed it's not too bad for you pixiedust:

well I have braved the scales and put on 6lbs:crazy2:..glad I know the damage and looking forward to getting fit for summer..good luck everybody :thumbsup2

Hi every-one I'm back. Unfortunately partly due to a big op and then not really keeping to a healthy diet I have managed to put on all of the weight I lost 2 years ago so I am aiming to lose 4 stone, (hopefully most of it by September :) )

I was just wondering, when I diet I normally use the weight/height machine in Tesco's, but when I went there at the weekend they have removed it :(

I have tried using the clock type scales, but they can be pretty inaccurate depending on where on the floor I put them so not really sure what to use to make sure I am being consistent.

What do you guys use to make sure that you get an accurate reading each time?

I use an electronic scale from Salter. I have it in my bathroom, which has a tiled floor and make sure i set it on the same tile each time I weigh in :lmao:

But I also go to a club and get weighed officially each week - i use that as my actual weight. :thumbsup2

Mine is a digital scale which is also on a flat surface. It weighs 2 lbs lighter than the WeightWatcher scale, but that's life! I always go with the WW weight. My first weight in of the year is tomorrow and I'm expecting quite a big weight gain but I'm determined that this is the year I get to goal. I've buggered about with this excess weight long enough. I deserve to be slim, damn it and it's about time I made it happen!

Pam

I use salter digital and I weigh myself in kilos as I find it more reassuring than stones. Don't ask me why lol. I was 96kg in october and 91.6 tonight and its the monthly time . Iv added that fitness app but it says im allowed 1700 calories. That seems quite a lot. I am tall well 5ft 9. Anyone else allowed that many?
Anyway regards scales the secret is not to move them apparently. It disturbs them. How true that is I don't know.

I've put on about 5lbs over the Christmas period, but if I'm honest I've been off plan since October. I managed to lose 47lbs last year and got to my target weight, so I'm dammed if I'm going to put it all on, besides I got rid of all my 'big' clothes. Anyway Sunday I finished all my chocolates, threw biscuits and cakes away and since Monday I've been back on plan following what for me is my trusty SW plan.
As regards to scales, I place my scales in the same spot on my tiled bathroom floor, which are usually 1lb lighter than the scales at my SW group.
