We've been back for 3 weeks and one day and have another trip being planned.
This was probably our most successful trip with everything going to plan and some things even better than the plan, it just makes that thud at the bottom of the come down even harder to take.

Next year won't be as long or as extravagant but i'm sure it'll still be wonderful.

Next trip will be 3 weeks (or four, who really knows :rolleyes1) with around 2 weeks in Palm Springs (now my DH's favourite place on the planet), 4 days in Anaheim, 3 days Carlsbad and wanting to also head to Bearizona and DH has decided he'd better do some serious golfing there.
I'm hoping to do an early morning hot air balloon flight there :goodvibes

At least there's 4 days in Anaheim. And 3 days in Carlsbad. :rotfl:

How long are you going to have in Williams?

Thinking 3 or 4 days, DS could see a part of the Grand Canyon depending where we drive and I think the wildlife park will be pretty awesome, the Tripadvisor reviews are really good :thumbsup2

I've never been to Bearizona. We keep driving past that part of the world and I keep saying we should go. But we never seem to.

Grand Canyon? Will you stay at the rim or drive in and out?

Not sure where we'll stay, I think we'll have to check the actual distances to the things we're wanting to see and then go from there.
This is a VERY new change to the itinerary but I think it's something we'll enjoy :goodvibes

Lol Becpee, you sound like me. Back for just three weeks and already planning the next trip.

I'm keen to know what your DH loved so much about Palm Springs. Was it the golf?

Bearizona was a nice stop on the way to the Grand Canyon, but I'm not sure I'd plan a whole side trip because of it. The canyon is great if you stay in the actual park. We had 2 nights there, but I'd only do one if we did it again. It was great to see, but not 2 days worth of you ask me.
We made the mistake of going to Carlsbad just for Legoland and were pretty disappointed. Should have stayed there only one night, and stayed on the beach at San Diego for a cople more.

Definitely the golf, he loves it!
And there is everything you need there, I am completely happy to drive around there, the traffic is non existent and I pretty much know my way around now (DH laughs because I know where all the stores are ;) )

We've done Legoland once before, but we'll also try the outlets there which should give us at least two nights there.
DH will always be happy as long as he can find a golf course, and I want to do a morning hot air balloon flight which is something neither of us have done before.
When I asked DS8 if he wanted to do it his eyes lit up so it's a definite possibility.

Sounds like an amazing plan so far, I'm sure it will evolve and change but that's half the fun;)

We're all really looking forward to it (already ), i'm really wanting to start trying to get to some educational places as DS8 gets older to add a different dimension to our Disney-esque trips :joker:

That's a great justification for more trips. :thumbsup2

That's the way we're leaning at present. My son got so many priceless learning experiences out of Yellowstone and he actually preferred it to Disneyland.
I'm keen to foster these interests. :)

Sounds like good plan except for the golf!, have always wanted to go to Palm Springs though. I like your post holiday thud comment, exactly how we felt. Took me two weeks to un-thud myself. So to recover booked the Halloween deals to Hawaii last week, so it's 2 weeks Hawaii for Easter for our next trip, that will keep me going.

Congrats on having another trip booked!

Getting back to work has been really, really hard :sad2:

Hawaii sounds nice, although at this rate anything with sun, water and sand would be nice ;)

Palm Springs is really nice, hot, but nice.
We stayed at Westin Desert Villa's, fully self contained villa's, it was fantastic :thumbsup2

The view from the aerial tramway

Congrats on planning the next trip :thumbsup2 We always have 2-3 on the go so we have something to look forward to on our return home :rotfl:

2 weeks in Palm Springs? :scared1: Your DH must really love golf! We had 2 nights in the Palm Springs area which we loved, but can't imagine spending 2 weeks there. We did a mountain bike tour of the San Andreas fault line and the aerial tramway. I'd like to go again and spend more time up there, do some hiking etc. We went up just before sunset and didn't get much time there. I highly recommend you spend some time in Joshua Tree NP. We spent a whole day driving through there and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Sounds like a great trip and I'll be interested in seeing how it all unfolds :thumbsup2

He's a golf nut

We did 4 nights there this past trip and not enough, 5 nights last trip, not enough

Joshua Tree NP is on my list definitely, but one day i'd really love to do P.S in the Winter when it snows up in the mountains, that would be magical :tinker:
