awwww i fully understand your upsetness (yea.. i make up words!!) I was the assistant director at my before and after school program last year and this september i start as a resource person for the company, i was so so sad on the last day! I was so upset to leave my kiddos and my director! its so hard with kids because you get so so so attached.

you'll be okay tho! u can always go back and visit and you'll love your new job im sure

I TOTALLY know how you feel. I've worked at daycares over the past 6 years (degree in ECE), and most recently I was a head teacher for 2 years at a daycare. I had to leave that job to go back to school, and not a day goes by that I don't miss those kids. Only people who work in a daycare understand it, that the kids in your classroom- you spend 8 hours a day with them- and they kind of become like your 8 best friends who pick you up when you are down and who you can tell your problems too, and they always give honest advice (with 2 year olds, its more or less- "why sad?" "it's okay! don't be sad!" with a hug)-- either way I totally know how sad it can be. At least you have memories forever!

They really are, they MY kids! I love the memories and of course I'm going back to visit them!

3:15 am and we are both awake!! Yes we got some sleep the night before, amazing! We woke up and as soon as I opened my eyes it hit me, we’re going to Disney World!! Oh god, the day has finally come after waiting so long I am finally going to Disney World with Ian!! So of course I wanted to jump out of bed and get ready, because now I was worried that we would be late for the plane (yeah right, do you really think I didn’t plan enough time!) We got up, took our showers, and got ready. Ian wore his new Kingdom Hearts shirt and I just wore a purple tank top. We got our carry ons all ready. I pretty much was set, just had to through my phone in there. I had all of our travel documents in the nice little envelope thing that AAA gave me. It was very useful. Ian had to basically pack his carryon because he wouldn’t listen to me and pack it the night before (smile). Oh why don’t they listen to us!! Well it didn’t take that long and we made sure our checked luggage was all set and completely packed. We were done with all of this by 4:20am. We left the apartment and decided we wanted to stop at McDonald’s because we knew we wouldn’t be eating until we got to Pop Century and since that was probably going to be at like 1:00, we needed some fuel!! Haha but I think I could have run on pure adrenaline at this point though!! Ian was excited but he was too nervous about the plane ride to think about anything else. If you don’t remember, this was Ian’s first time on a plane and he was really really nervous! But he managed to eat a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel sandwich with a hash brown and soda. I’m surprised, usually when he’s really nervous he can’t eat! I had the same thing but with orange juice. So we were finally on our way! Since we live in PA and apparently in PA this year we are not allowed to have an actually summer, it was cold out this morning. Thankfully I had my very cute pink princess sweatshirt so I was ready to go!! The airport is only about 20 minutes away or something in that range so we were there pretty quickly. We got to the airport and parked the car and got to the main terminal by 5:00am. It was still dark but surprisingly there was a lot of people there. I think there was like 3 flights going out all at about the same time and they were all full because there were a lot more people there then I thought there would be. We got in line and thankfully a guy came up and opened a new line and we got checked in right away. Now if you guys remember from my PTR I was a little nervous about checking in and getting everything right. This was my first time flying without my family. I was pretty confident that it was really hard to screw it up but if things can be screwed up then I’m the one who can do it!! (smile) So anyway we got checked in just fine and then our luggage came. Now I know that we weighed our luggage at home but I kept thinking what if our scale is off or it didn’t weigh correctly because the scale was too small for the luggage and then we would have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a heavy suitcase. Well it made it!! Both of our luggage passed the weighing!! (smile) And we were on our way. Ian wanted to go outside and have one last cigarette before we left (I told you he was nervous!!) So we went outside really quick. Now I was getting nervous about getting through security (hmmm there seems to be a problem with me getting nervous! Wasn’t Ian the one who was supposed to be nervous flying? Oh well I always hate going through security and I always get worried that I’ll set the alarm off or my carry on will be taboo in some way!) I told Ian we had to get through security so I could relax (yeah cause that’s going to happen, I’m going to Disney World for heaven’s sake!) So we got in the line for security. Now the airport by our house is insanely small and there’s never a lot of people there but the line for security was kinda long. Had to be all those people on the same flight we were going on! It didn’t take that long and we were only in line for like 10/15 minutes. Ian and I both personally made it through security but apparently my Animal Kingdom carry on was misbehaving. For some reason, and I was too nervous and anxious to get to our plane to ask why, my bag had to be swabbed or something. But that ended up being all right and we were again on our way to our gate. Ian is getting more and more nervous. We were at the gate waiting for our plane by about 5:25, so we didn’t have much time to wait for our flight to start to board. Ian constantly needs a drink with him so we went over to the overly priced stand and bought two sodas to bring with us. Ahh my first experience with overly priced stuff, Disney here we come!! So we waited maybe like 10 minutes and they started to board the plane. Because it was a small plane they just boarded everyone at once. We got on and everything was set. We pretty much left at the right time, our flight was supposed to leave at 6:15am and I’m pretty sure it left around that time give or take 5 minutes. Ian was doing ok on the plane until we started to move, not even lift off, just move on the runway, then he grabbed my hand and just wouldn’t talk to me. Once we pretty much leveled off he let go of my hand and turned on his music. He listened to that the rest of the trip. I wrote in my notebook the events so far in the day and then I took a nap. I woke up right before we were on our decent and took out my book and read a little bit of that. Ian was a little better on the way down but was still nervous. Thankfully my ears didn’t hurt me on any of the plane rides (the one time I had a cold and my ears were so blocked that my head was killing me so badly that I cried, thankfully that didn’t happen to me this time!!) So we were now in Atlanta. We landed and were off the plane by 8:10am, about 20 minutes early!! I asked Ian how the plane ride was and he said it wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be but he still didn’t like it! I called my mom when we got off the plane just to let her know we were in Atlanta safely. Ian needed a cigarette right away so we went to look for a smoking lounge. We found it and Ian relaxed a little bit. We went to our next gate and actually didn’t have a lot of time to wait for that one either. I need to make a stop at the bathroom so that took up some time too. We sat and waited for the next flight. Here’s a picture of Ian waiting for the flight in Atlanta, can you tell he’s happy about flying again!

Finally we got on the plane and took off at about 10:10, it was a little late but I’m not sure when our flight was supposed to leave. Ian did much better on takeoff for this flight. We got in the air and I wrote a little bit more in my notebook. Once again Ian listened to music. After I finished writing, I took another nap. I woke up on decent again and this time Ian actually looked out the window as we were going down!! I was so proud of him, this was a big step! We landed at 11:10am. We got off the plane and headed down to get in line for Magical Express. As we were on the tram thing that reminds me of the monorail but not as good, I took a picture of the palm trees on my phone for my mom. She loves the palm trees and I sent the picture to her. She immediately put it as her background on her phone. This also told her that we were in Florida. Yes we were finally in Florida and soon we would be at Disney World!!

Up Next: Magical Express and just some “happy” people on vacation.
















Oh and my photobook just came today!! So I'll try to scan the pictures in soon so I can add them to my TR!! I start school today so I might take a while for me to do everything! Please be patient with me and don't leave!

Can't wait to hear about your magical express adventure! Flying is scary for first timers.....god bless the smoking lounges in the south huh! I don't smoke but I used to, and when I did, there was nothing I loved more than being able to smoke during a layover!

He will get more used to it the more he flies-- well i take that back LOL i fly all the time and i still am not a fan LOL!! You look very happy in your airport picture Ian looks a little nervous to be flying again LOL!! poor guy!! Not really an adventure, just some people already "enjoying" their vacation! Yeah he was quite nervous but he got better. Oh believe me he was quite happy to see those smoking lounges! And actually it took up time waiting at the gate for our plane!

I will not give into demands!! Ok ok I will because here's another update!!

So we were finally in Florida!! We made our way down to the Magical Express line. We were right on schedule and I was just too excited to finally be here!! Ian was excited to be off the plane! So we got in line. At first I got nervous because there was a very long line that I thought we had to get in but it ended up being the Cruise line. Phew! We were given a card so they can see how long the wait is for people, we were more than happy to help them! So we went through two checks of our Magical Express information and on the second check the gentleman said we didn’t have any flight information in our booklet for our return flight. Now I had known this before I left and had already cleared it with my TA, she said that it would be fine and she had checked with Disney and they had our flight information. This guy was making me nervous because he made sure to point it out to us, even though I had told him our TA said that Disney had our flight information. He told us to call the number on the paper. Ugh well it was only a very very minor glitch to my perfect plan and I just blew it off for now because we were in line!! Woohoo!! We’re that much closer to actually getting to Disney World!! We were the second family in line, great it shouldn’t be that long! So we’re waiting and waiting and the line is getting longer behind us. It didn’t really bother me that much, I was on cloud 9 , we had just run into our first Disney line! Even that made me happy! Well apparently the people behind us weren’t as happy to be going to Disney World!! A few buses pulled up and the other lines went. Now I understand some of the lines that went weren’t as long as ours but still they have some sort of system for these buses and who goes when and I understand that, other people not so much! So the people behind us were getting pretty angry and actually started yelling at the CM there!! They were yelling, “When’s it our turn!?” and “Come on we’ve been waiting here forever!” And this wasn’t like joking yelling, it was actually angry yelling! They were talking about how they had been up since like 6:00 in the morning and they wanted to get there. I felt like turning around and saying, “listen, we’ve been up since 3:15 this morning and have been on a plane all day but you don’t see us screaming our heads off, so just relax and you’ll get there soon!!” Now I did not say that but I really really really wanted to (plus add a few choice words if there weren't any kids!) The CMs of course were doing their best and being very polite to these very rude people. The one CM said we would be next but of course there was still grumbling behind us. Oh people relax, you’re going to Disney World is an extra 10 minutes really going to ruin your vacation? Now I was anxious to get there as well but if they think a 15-20 minute wait was bad they really should not have come to Disney World in August!! Anyway our bus finally came. Unfortunately we did not get a ME bus but here’s a pic of one I took on our way home, so we’ll just pretend!

We got on ME bus by 12:15pm and we’re on our way! As we were going the movie wasn’t playing and I was getting nervous! I love that movie! Plus I really wanted Ian to see it. Finally it started playing and I let out a very quiet squeal! (Vallie, you know what I mean!) We watched the movie and before you knew it that sign appeared! You know what sign I mean, this one!

We were in Disney World!! Ahhhhh! After all these months Ian and I finally made it! We stopped at Caribbean Beach first. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t stop at Pop first but it was neat to see Caribbean Beach. So then we were on our way to Pop Century! We arrived at about 1:00pm. Pretty good time wise, I thought. Here’s the sign at Pop when we first entered!

We had done the online check in and we got right in line and guess what, there was no one in front of us! All we had to do was wait for the CM to get her computer going and we were all checked in. The entire process took about 5 minutes. It was wonderful!! Ok so I had made one room request when we booked our trip, we wanted to be in the 60’s building. I thought the 60’s building looked fun and the 60’s are Ian’s favorite time period, so it was perfect. We didn’t call or fax any request after that, only the original request and do you know where our room was? In the 60’s building!! Woohoo!! I was so excited. We had gotten a preferred room and were on the second floor facing the pool, right across from the little kids’ pool behind the Hippy Dippy Pool. And it was ready!! How lucky were we!! Here’s a picture of our room number and door!

It was perfect!! First we went to get our mugs in the food court. Well I had no idea where we would go to get the mugs, I didn’t know we had to go into the food court. So I was walking around the store and finally asked someone and they directed me to the food court. We found a mug with a red top, which is what I wanted but we couldn’t find one with a black top, which is what Ian wanted, surprise surprise right! Well we looked around a little bit more and found some more!! Woohoo, a black top!! So we got in line and got our free mugs!! Now I was still carrying around my huge freakin purse and my carryon and of course while we were standing in line I knocked over some of the treats. Oh dear, I was embarrassed but a very nice CM helped me pick them up. After that we wanted to head over to our room but Ian needed a smoke first so we stopped at the smoking section. Finally we were on our way to the room. I forgot to mention when we walked out of the door to the Hippy Dippy pool we literally walked out of the door and just said whoa! I said outloud, “This place is so cute, I love it!!” We loved it the minute we saw it!! It was so colorful and fun! So we walked to our room. We walked into our room and it was very nice. I didn’t see any mold, paint peeling, or anything out of order! It was nice and cool in there too! I had heard that the ac was motion sensored but we didn’t have a problem with it the entire time. We had to turn the temperature down once or twice but that was just because it got too hot for us! I swear I have hot flashes sometimes!! Anyway we walked into the room, put down our stuff, and I grabbed my camera! I had to take pics of the room for my TR!! And I had to get them before we messed up the room with our stuff!! So here’s the pics of our room!

After that I called home and talked to my Dad. I told him how much we liked Pop Century already and we were already having fun!! As we were getting used to the room and relaxing in the ac for a little bit Ian’s basket was delivered! I took it and gave it to him and said “Happy first trip!!” Hehe. He loved it!! Of course I wouldn’t let him open it up until I took a picture!! After that he opened it up and he loved everything in it! Here’s pics of the basket and all the things in it!

After that we stopped for another cigarette and headed into Everything Pop for some lunch!! We were starving! We hadn’t had anything to eat since about 4:30 this morning! So we stopped for some lunch. We decided to just stand in one line so we would be together because we still weren’t quite sure how the Dinning Plan worked. I got the chicken nugget basket with a diet coke and the famous tye dye cheesecake for dessert and Ian got a chili dog, a coke, and some chips for later. Here’s our meals!

I asked when we got up to the register if the CM could explain the dinning plan to us again and he did and for some reason when he explained it to us it made sense!! We learned to remember EDD because
“he” would help us remember what we could get on the dinning plan! EDD was “entre, drink, dessert” And I did remember it after that! So we ate our lunch, which was ok. I forgot to get dipping sauce for my chicken nuggets so they were a little dry and Ian said his hot dog was just ok. So we finished up, had another quick cigarette and headed back to our room. We wanted to see if our luggage had gotten there yet, we weren’t planning on it being there but we figured we check just to make sure. It wasn’t so we decided, well I decided, we needed to get to a park quick!! I was craving some Disney rides!! But which park we go to will have to wait until my next update!!

Next update: Which park will we go to? What will Ian think of his first Disney park?

i am loving your updates so far!! I miss POP i havent stayed there since 2006! I love it there too its very cute and you feel the disney spirit there. I love how you took pics of your room-- and i think i might steal your idea LOL and take pics of all star music rooms when i get there

Also the refillable mugs are different this year they are cute! Its about time they changed them up a little bit-- thats funny that Ian wanted one with a black lid

the basket you got for him is very nice!! I bet he was excited to get that

I hate being in the line waiting for the ME one year we waited for over 2 hours we waited in line longer than our entire flight to MCO at least you finally made it there

the food looks soo good!! even though its only resort food i love the simple resort food!!

Its funny that you knocked snacks down in the dinning hall LOL but i am laughing with you because that is so something that i would do LOL

do you recommend doing the online check in then? Do you think it works better this way? I have no clue if i should do this or not-- let me know what you though and I cant wait for more!!!

Thank you!! I really like writing them!! I wrote a lot down because I figured I'd forget things, I have a horrible memory and can literally forget things 2 minutes after you tell me something but as I'm writing it just comes back to me! I started writing and hardly looked in my notebook at all! Even at Disney I remembered stuff better! Must be that Disney magic!! Oh we really did love Pop, we didn't have any problems there! We just couldn't stop looking at everything! Oh take pics of your room! I like seeing the rooms from different resorts! I like the mugs, I think they're cuter than past years. He was so surprised! He really loved the basket, all the stuff from it is up all around his apartment! Ok I could definitely understand complaining in a 2 hour line . I would have been furious then! I have to say that particular meal wasn't the greatest but it wasn't horrible either. Mine would have been better if I had remembered the hunny mustard sauce but I didn't and I was just too lazy to get up and get it. Oh I am too clumsy! yes that's classic me! I'm the one who trips going up the stairs! I do recommend the online check in. It was so easy! It seriously was 5 minutes total to check in and we got the decade we wanted! I do remember that they didn't have a place to request a certain building if you wanted to do that you would probably have to fax a request in or something of that sort but I did love the online check in and would definitely do it again. Very very useful!

love the updates! sounds like your trip is going SO WELL so far!!! The same thing happened to me with the ME- the guy told me they didnt have my return flight information, even though I was pretty much 100% that they did. Freaked the hell out of me, when I actually called it turned out they didn't have it, so I just gave them the information and everything was A-Ok. I wonder if you go to MK first? Can't wait to hear more!
