A Must Do and a Skip..

Do both dinners in Animator's they are both great on the Magic.
Skip early bedtime, so much to do and you can sleep in if you want to.

Skip Animator's :confused3 Why? Have you been on the Dream/Fantasy - or just the Wonder. The upgrades to Animator's from a few years ago are really good. Make's this location MUCH better than on the Wonder.

I don't know about the Wonder but DH and I did not enjoy AP (on the Dream). Our meal was terrible.

Do not miss the "goodbye" show at the end and bring your kleenex.

Skips for us are Animators

I apologize. I didn't thoroughly read your post. I missed that you had cruised DCL before and therefore would know whether or not you liked and/or wanted to skip Animator's. I made the way wrong assumption that you hadn't cruised DCL before and were also looking for suggestions.

Do Not skip the ice cream machines! Everyday is a different flavor and the banana is to die for!!!

We sailed the Dream this past June and at Animators were seated one table from the wall. We couldn't hear that anything special was going on. We had 3 teens with us and we could see the animation on the walls and some changing lights but we couldn't hear anything happening...there was sound but not loud enough for us to hear. Bring just DH and me, this is definitely a skip for us since we don't enjoy the menu either.

Just my Opinion, you should go on the night that the "Drawn to Animation" show is (this is not on the Dream from what I have heard). It's a limited menu, but you draw a picture and Disney animates it for you. We find it a lot of fun.

Do see a movie on the boat. Whether it be an older Disney movie, more recent or even a current release. It's not something you can do at home.
If "Song of the South" was playing on the ship, I would go see it.

Skip watching movies in the theater. You can do that at home.

I think this is bad advice. In fact, I think that for the most part, any answer to your question of "what to skip" that is a blanket answer is wrong. The reason I say this is that just about everything on the ship is there for a reason, and likely generates high satisfaction ratings from those that participate - otherwise, it would be gone and replaced with something else. Clearly, not everything appeals to every guest or type of guest, and that's fine. But to scratch something off the list just because someone else didn't like it would be a mistake.

Agree. I haven't been on my cruise yet but I am absolutely looking forward to putting my DS in child care so I can actually go watch a movie in a theater! We never go to movies because of our little guy being a runner and screamer! even before he was born my dh and I really only went to occasional kid friendly movies with our DD. if I can go see an adult movie during the cruise I will be in heaven!

Like a lot of people, it's very hard to nail down a couple of must do's! I loved the champagne breakfast at Remy on the Fantasy and was so happy I experienced it and would do it again. The Art of the Theme show tour is also great. And that's just the top of the iceberg for me. :)

The only skip that comes to mind are the spa services in Senses. My experiences have been pretty mediocre at prices much higher than on the mainland.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes, I definitely know that everyones' taste and preferences are different. That's why I wanted to hear from you :) Of course we will pick and choose. Yet it's good to have a running list to start right. If everyone raves about going to see *random example- on the 3level there's this secret passageway-definitely check out* that's what I was looking for. (I just made that part up, in case anyone comes back to say-No such thing, ha!) I'm getting excited for the cruise and it's a long ways away!!! March 2016

* Not sure if I want to do the FE with all that's going on with the ship entertainment and keeping up with the kiddos! :thanks:

Speaking personally as this may not fit your expectations, I look forward to the Fish Extenders. Not for what I get, but for the fun of seeing our kids get little gifts from other people and the fun of getting things together for other people. For us, we collect the gifts from the Fish Extenders and go through them, together, at the end of the day. It's like a mini Christmas every night. The kids have a blast with it and it's fun to watch them. True, some put a LOT of work into the gifts they give and they love to do that. Others take a simpler, but not any less appreciated, approach in order to save themselves some sanity. (: Delivering Fish Extender gifts don't really take that much time, but, if you'd rather not be distracted from the rest of the goings on, that's completely understandable.

I don't know about skips, but on the Magic specifically, I would absolutely not miss the first dinner at Animators. Both the husband and I had tears in our eyes by the time everything was done that night.

Another do not miss for us is always Palo's brunch. It's nice to get away from the kids for a bit, and the brunch is always amazing :)

That reminds me, I would skip Fish Extenders. IMHO, it's silly and you take up a lot of space carrying that crap onto the ship and you get a bunch of junk. Just my 2¢.

I think FEs are to each his own type of deal. We did it for the first time our last cruise, and I said before we boarded I was done, never doing it again...and then had SUCH a good time with it on board (and my 2-year old LOVED seeing her gifts each day!), that I've already signed us up for the next one. I don't know that I would do it without the kids, but then again...never know. FEs are mostly dependent on the people doing them to be enjoyable, I think.
